For all you artists and designers this is the time to go into pirate FH pirate lore. Banner competitions are here. And your skills are duly needed. It is time to revamp FH's image a little -- help us make this place a little more wow!!! Post all entries here: Contest Entries (http://www.franky-house.com/forums/showthread.php?t=954)
Directions
There are two banner locations for each skin - on the Home Page and the forums. As such there will be two maximum images for each skin. Although a single image can bu used for both Home and Forum pages. There are 3 skins to be worked on. Dimension: 936 x 160 [W x H]
It is preferred you use your own work of genius. If you use any renders that are not yours give credit. If you first need to seek permission from the owners then do so
Banners with several of the Manga series FH releases are can be designed.
Animations and any other effects are very much encouragedThe dimension for each banner could be changed slightly anytime. You may also be requested to edit some features of the images you submit if you win. Therefore, if you use photoshop or any similar software keep the psds with all image layers intact. You can use any software you are comfortable with. Each banner should of course go with the particular skin you choose. Design it as you want. as best as you want. While designing dont forget to check all the various manga series we do.Prizes/Rewards
So apart from your banner being dutifully displayed for visitors to feast their eyes onThe chosen banner will be displayed on the site b.n a time frame about half a year.

The chosen winner will have his/her name added to the Pirates Hall of Fame.

The Winner will have the option of also choosing a forum to moderate as long as the banner is up and running.

We will also try to accomodate any wishes you come up with to the best of our abilities.
Dont request for money, games, or anything not related to manga. Suggestions on what kind of prizes to offer are also encouraged to be given.

The contest should ideally last no longer than 1-2 months.
As long as we get enough banners. If situations change conditions in running this will also change. Thanks to everyone that will help out in this.

This is Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuppppeeeeeeeeerrr :Hip Hip: My suggestion. For that skin if the image remain colored instead of greyish they look much better for that skin. And for any skin.

For This - i go sit down and print this image and stare at it for the whole day. This is -- yes i lost for words. But i get same suggestion as above. But multiple image no good for this banner so maybe FH do something where single image can display if clicked. This go very well also for Hiruma

Man Faia-chan's blew me away when i saw it. She was hiding how pro she was a drawing and making banners and stuff, what else is there she's hiding from us xD.

as for kenji's comments...there are two reasons why the pics are grey-scaled. First, not all the pics are colored, and Second, filesize issue.

and I have other ideas in my mind for the other two skins. hopefully i can find the time to get them out before the contest is over.

as for kenji's comments...there are two reasons why the pics are grey-scaled. First, not all the pics are colored, and Second, filesize issue. Faiakin, how big is the file when colored? It is true your design encapsulates all the recommendations made in the entry thread. My advise is this:

this is a manga site. People like colored manga a lot. The skin u made it for is all grey and black. Adding a grey seems to merge things together. But adding a little bit color vis a vis the banner will be better. If it isnt too big

I'll try going back and replacing all the pics with their colored counterparts... I'll see what I can do about the non-colored ones...i may use a color overlay on them.

If anyone could find a decent colored pic of Gantz or Ippo (perferably a punch here)...plz let me know :p i had a hard time finding thoses.

And yes, you can also try a combination of colored and non colored images in this banner. And then all colored images too. I already tested the design above on the skin and it is good - but it is all grey!!!

Posted the full color version. Turns out the file size somehow got smaller (if someone wants to explain that logic...plz feel free...cause i'm lost)

It came out pretty good...only had to trade out two pics so that they could all be colored.

:sorry: but you no follow rules. All of us, even me who no get no skill in banner making. can crop and resize that image by Oda himself. To make it banner where is Franky House- where is ur own work? u know - something else u add or do urself.

Leave image in Entry thread but work on another one. if u no follow rule u get no vote - see??

The one in the spoiler is uploaded to Photobucket. This is the site I prefer to use. Little hassle (other than it hating B-One...wait thats a good thing right?), and fairly straight-forward to use.

Play with paint, then try imitating photshop effects with paint XP. I've done that before, and I actually made a paint sig better than one guy's photoshop sig before. But really, just play with Photoshop, then goof off, go to tutorial sites, and learn from there.

I like how you make Franky stand out by fading the rest. For the text...i think the gold is growing on me..wasn't a big fan of it at first.

As you may noticed in the rules, the "franky house" is not needed. And again on the contest rules you can see several picture of the skins that needs banners, you may notice one called Cipher Pol home there.

I would like to know what kind of higher position I could get here Funchi, I am quite satisfied with the one I presently have. So if I did one was because I wanted to do one, and because I try to help this community. Isn't that we are all supposed to do?

Aww man, all of them are so awesome! >< I wasn't sure if I should do one, because that was actually the first thing that caught my attention when I found the site.. though I felt bad, since the only two I read are OP and Tsubasa, I thought it would be bias just picking one or the other. But now that I've looked at all of them I think I'm inspired *looks up dreamily* AND I just figured out how to use the animation feature on CS2!!! Yay for accidents!! :D Plus I have a TON of Colorwalk pics now---Oda is Suuuuuuperrrrrrr!!! XD All Franky House people are the awesomeness ^^ :Hoppity_Hop:

Well, not too sure about my own. The first was my original idea…one of the newer color pics I got, and I thought it would look nice with the rainbow scheme. It took FOREVER to get the frame size of each individual pic just right—they’re all the same size except for Franky and Luffy, who are each like, 3 pixels bigger exactly, I think. And I know there was nothing that said there HAD to be text or not, but I thought it added a little something nice to it.

For the animated ones, I couldn’t decide which sequence I liked better, so I just put them all up. I tried not to make them too fast or slow, but I can always go back and change that if needed. Also, for the third one, I just made the lit colors a bit bolder on Luffy through Nami, since they seemed kind of light on the first one, but, I dunno. Whichever one you all think is better. I’ll probably think of some other interesting animation scheme later as well, so there will probably be a fifth one as well. ^-^; I don’t have any school tomorrow, so aside from helping my mom out with cleaning and stuff, I’ll have as much time as I need to figure it out, or even make another one. I was really leaning towards a Tsubasa one.. I couldn’t choose. Well, then again, obviously I did -_-; *sigh* What can I say… its One Piece. It has that affect on me. Even as I type, ‘Believe’ is playing on my ipod. XD ~edit~ actually that was an hour ago. Now its ‘Asu wa Kuru Kara’ waahh.. XD I swear its on shuffle all! lol

man, awesome work, guys. I love everyone's banner. Especially stiffy's Bleach + D.Gray man banner and Typhoon's one. Colors just look so great.

Faia's animated banner look cool too. Looks like a video . Really cool :D Star90's banner is pretty as well but i prefer one piece or some other shounen is our main banner rather than TRC. The same with xeras's banner. B-one's banner look fun but i think some background decoration would make it look cooler ;) Sami's banner looks really nice.

I love every banner tho. ;) very good job and nice work on coloring. Well done. Animated or not, they all still awesome :hug: YAY, make me want to know how to color too.
