:Hi:

welcome to our home

first your clean need a lot of improvement:
1- a lot of detail is gone
2- a lot of grey was turn to black(which really bad to do)
3- but your turn black to black and white to white i guess

your typeset need also improvement:
1- always center the text
2- use as much space there is but leave some space dont touch the bubble

overall this is really very LQ but i can see u improve but read these tutorial
1-make the chapter smaller (http://www.franky-house.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201)
2-The Idiot's Guide to Editing Manga (http://www.unblessed.net/guide/main.html)
3-also reread buld guide

after this try to clean some of naruto manga(which is easier to learn on) to let us see your progress

here i clean and typeset one page u did to let see difference (not the best though but see)

Mx0 is not a very good starter manga honestly. You're more likely to get frustrated. As mab suggested, start on Naruto, a clean series without many grays, and you'll be able to learn the basics easier.

Typesetting, your shaping is pretty good, but as mab mentioned, getting the text centered within the bubble is key.

Keep up the good work, overall a good start for a beginner. Ask lots of questions, keep practicing, and you'll be cleaning like a master in no time :D

alright another go...i finally know the REAL burn tool lol...before this i was using brush color burn...thinking it was burn tool lo....well i hope i improved but images seem blurry...is it my denoise problem? i use noise lvl luminance -50% and noise reduction luminance 100% (like what blud did in his guide).

1 more question, does these pass as LQ? ><
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa67/giganto_luffy/m0_02.pnghttp://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa67/giganto_luffy/FT-AB1-10.pnghttp://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa67/giganto_luffy/Bleach_298_pg09.png

mab
11-03-2007, 12:22 PM
yeah it is LQ but i seems u dont level after the fillter so that is why it is blurry

but u still need to improve more but i think they will consider u a trainee so wait to venicia

rengwei
11-03-2007, 01:09 PM
just quickly done this in 5 minutes...i changed the level settings and i think this is better than before...less blurry

http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa67/giganto_luffy/FT-AB1-10-1.png

yea mab...i intend to improve...first can u tell me what's the difference between MQ and LQ besides the quality? how can i get MQ results? thx for feedback btw

mab
11-03-2007, 01:20 PM
this page still not good LQ spend more time on it to get better result but work in naruto it is easier than move to other mangas

well to go to MQ u have to redone the border dont have the blurry in the page and of course make black black and white white and dont lose some of the details of the page and much more

something like this is MQ/HQ

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd170/01mab/FT-AB-19-1.png

if u want to now how to borader here MH (http://mangahelpers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6796)

rengwei
11-04-2007, 07:33 AM
now i hope this pass as MQ!! took me lots of time phew...

http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa67/giganto_luffy/FT-AB1-14.png

i know i should try on naruto >< i will probably do that next week...this might be my last clean this week since i got an exam coming up on wednesday >< anyway comments plsss...

not bad on the last page. btw are you doing overlays? if you are i recommend you don't, cause the bottom 3 boxes came out pretty dark. by overlay i mean you probably flatten the image then set the layer to "overlay", "color burn" etc. if you didn't, then something went wrong there. like mab said, try naruto first since cleaning pages from that manga is a lot easier than the ones your trying.

for fairy tail i don't have that many cleans but here is something of a low MQ clean.

very nice...wish i could do gray like that...
i think i know what went wrong with the last 3 panels...i replaced gray with black ><

alright will try on naruto next time thx

mab
11-04-2007, 09:56 AM
ok it better than before but still your grey all gone again

man cannot u just leave it alone :)

anyhow keep the good work but your typeset is good now u can help us in that area but i dont know why but some the text blacker than the other in the same bubble??

morbid587
11-04-2007, 10:24 AM
rengwei, those aren't grays. that type of lines are usually left alone and not darken or touched. in that page that i posted the lines that look gray to you are the original lines without anything done to them.

rengwei
11-04-2007, 11:57 AM
some the text blacker than the other in the same bubble??
yea mab it appeared darker because i use bold for shouting...example : "OH CRAP!" and i use bolditalic for put emphasis on "fairy tail"...if u think that's a bad idea then i could change..

your typeset is good now u can help us in that area
sure i'll be happy to help but spare me any heavy load this 2 weeks since i got an exam...after that i'll be happy to help as much as i could to speed up chapter releases =)

that type of lines are usually left alone and not darken or touched
ok will keep that in mind

You seem to learn fast that's good^^. At first try to go with quality over speed. Like this, it took me 2 hours but it's a High MQ^^: http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee200/B-One_not_a_robot/Naruto_376_pg04_filtered-1.png

Find your technique and try different things (like the denoising, try to change the settings) each pages is different, that's what I found out:p. Now do your best and you'll be in the team in no time:p

Why not just call it HQ. After all, it does show that you did a lot of work on it. Looks so clean you could lick it. Borders are the only thing, but it looks pretty high quality. 2 hours seems a bit long, but then again, I'll assume that haven't gotten the memory work of cleaning down yet. Cleaning in HQ is time, patience, and a bit of memory work.

lol thanx real0st...gotta work on my borders then... You see rengwei, learning is hard and you can always get better^^. Try to tweak around with things you'll get good in no time:D.

very very nice cleanning in naruto i would say HQ but there are some White lines which are not connected like in second panel in ino shirt also the lines in the their hair should be more black and connected

but other than that it is amazing

how much did u spent on that ??? ;)

rengwei
11-12-2007, 01:37 PM
ino shirt's white line was not connected in the original manga so i left it as it was because i didnt wana simply make changes...:)
ya in my psd file their hairs are connected...but when i change to png-8 and upload to photobucket...their hairs become disconnected and ino lips too become disconnected ><...i guess i shud stroke them even more next time...

man i spend alottttttt of time on this...too many details so too many stroking to do....and the raw has many many dust! and i did some mistakes too at first so i have to redo some layers...overall it would be about 5 hours? i know...i'm the world's slowest cleaner ><

mab
11-12-2007, 01:47 PM
no HQ is hard to do specaily if u did not do it before like me spend too much and a lot of mistakes and cannot do it good so i will try later

check this tutorial by realost here (http://www.franky-house.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1009) and it looks really nice i will try that u should too :)

rengwei
11-12-2007, 11:45 PM

oh and i always forgot to say this...having done a HQ page i feel u guys FH staff in the HQ OP cleaning are really amazing...especially in recent chapters where there are so many details...must be really hard to do eh?

Thats ok, for a cleaning (specifically HQ cleaners) our motto has been "life over cleaning" or something like that. Of course that doesn't apply to speed cleaners, since they only dedicate a fraction of their day on cleaning, and the rest on the forums (you know who you are). Just do what you can on those Raw days.

Yeah LQ/MQ is quite a different world than HQ... I prefer the magnificient world of MQ, where you try to do some kind of nice greys...without killing youself XD.
