MGS4 delayed again

Yes, your read right, the awesome MGS4 has been delayed to Q2 2008.
In part, this is good for me, because i don't own a PS3 and now i hae more time to save money for one:).

What are your thoughts on the delay?

It's from Rurouini Kenshin, the correct spelling of the name is Sojiro, but i´ve been using Sojiroh for years (honestly i don't know why )

There was this thing i heard also about capcom, that they didn't have ps3 on thier little survey crads where you check off stuff and the one where its like what consoles do you own, like everything but ps3 was on it lol. So capcom doesn't even care if you own a ps3 anymore and they are not doing exclusives for ps3 or something. It was on sidescrollers i heard it if your wondering but ya.

I've kinda wanted to play MGS series again only played like first and bit of second one i think.

This is a shame but hopefully that means it will be even better once it is released.
Alas I would have to disagree on the Wii being the best console. We haven't turned ours on for months as rhere just aren't any games out that I want to play. Perhaps once Smash Brothers and the Bleach gamne get released over here in England I will have something to play but until then there really isn't anything out.

lol what about PS3...there is nothing there either yet<.<". You pay lots for nothing more XD...well there was a Can$170 take off on it this week at Future Shop:p...When the 80g is at less than 400$ I might buy it...but now XD... it's a complete waste of money^^.

As of now there is no games for ps3 at all essentially. While wii does have a small amount there is still a fair number out, and the VC adds more games that are cheap yet some of the best games ever made, and there are numerous games announced for the near futire that will be good. Until the PS3 is cheaper AND has a decent pool of games its a waste (unless your just getting it for blu-ray which is ~~)

Well at least with the PS3 I can import games from Japan/USA so it doesn't matter as much that they haven't come out over here yet. Espically as a lot of the Japanese games have english on them as well.

Nope none at all. I think the blue-ray movies do but all of the games are region free.Which is never a bad thing.

I think not anymore. THe 60 and 20 gig model had a ps2 chip or something that allowed you to play hardware-emulated games. In europe, when the 40 gig model was released it was announced that the ps3 would no longer allow backward compatibility, i don't know if this will be the same scenario for America. As for the 80 gig model, i also don't know if it allows backward compartibility (i'm 80% sure that it allows it)

**Edit: And now there is another reason for me to buy a PS3, today sony announced that they are indeed developing God of War III for the PS3 (it was only a matter of time)

The new 40 gig are not backwards compatible, but the 80 gig is im pretty sure

Sony are putting all their effort into FFXIII and MGS4 as they are the titles that can change their negative trend with PS3. I just can't wait until FFXIII comes, as I'll get myself a PS3 when it arrives. Sad though that EU releases usually take forever compared to the US and don't even mention Japan... At least there ain't no region crap on the PS3 games. PAL still sucks no matter what though since all games run NTSC standard and just a soundfix for PAL. FFX and FFXII are quite good examples of this. :/

DS doesn't have the regional endocding and all you needed was a freeloader disc to get past the gamecubes encoding. I would never have thought in a million years that ps3 didn't have one and thats pretty sweet.

Although FF and MG are big series in not sure getting just those 2 is enough to save the ps3 atm.

Final Fantasy will at the very least raise the sales for PS3 in Japan. Also there is the unname Final Fantasy product SquareEnix are working on for PS3. If it is indeed what the rumours say it is sales will go through the roof.

Yeah My opinion exactly, a game can't save a console...they wouldn need major combo breaker...lol XD.

Well if the unameed thing is the remake of FF7 thats i always hear about then that has a chance to help save it singlehandely almost (even i would strongly consider it probably)

That is what rumors say it is and i wouldn't surprise me if it was seeing as SquareEnix have remade all the Final's so far (1-6 including Tactics) for both the DS or PSP so far plus they seem to be milking the Final 7 universe at the moment.

If they do remake FF7 it will make or break it depending on how they do it. If they make a good true remake then it was a chance to save it, if thwey remake it and start treaking things that will piss people off and more bad news possibly.

Dragon Quest is another series that will majorly boost the sales in Japan. SquareEnix is probably the most important pillar in the PS3 building. :p

Thats true as well. Konami are pretty cool as well. I can't wait for a Silent Hill on one of the next-gen consoles.

The KH series have yet to get a upcoming title for the PS3 though. They have one PSP, one DS and one cellphone game coming up, but haven't heard of a PS3 game yet.

Yeah but since none of those three games is actully Kingdom Hearts 3 it is only a matter of time.
