Chinese to English Translator

Hello.

I just want to leave a post about my possible future contributions with Chinese -> English translations for One Piece.

I know my last job was sloppy (and it was meant to be as I didn't know that it was going to be used for typesetting, but rather to give us all an early OP fix), but I'm glad you guys could bear with me. =)

I'm looking forward to do some more translations in the future, as well as getting early raws that I can understand mwakaka =)

Edit: my translation can only be as good as the chinese 'raw' ;p

Well that's a pretty nice idea (I'm part Chinese so of course I say it's a good idea). But are you sure you mean English to Chinese, not Chinese to English because manga is originally in Japanese (although some of the Japanese characters are similar to some Chinese characters.) If you do mean English to Chinese, then you'd definitely be able to get more Chinese people into manga. And then you could provide the native Chinese reading people comic/manga relief. You could provide a small sample of it (since I can read a little Chinese)

Unfortunately, I can't write chinese, I can only read it (it's kinda lame but it's the way it goes for this language and bananas like me).

Yes, raws are in Japanese. They get scanlated by differed groups. Some are Jap -> Eng, some are Jap -> Chinese, and there's also all the international languages you can think of.

The thing is, getting a raw can take a while. Usually the Jap raw would be flogged around first, but like this week, a chinese scanlation group has managed to scanlate some MQ/HQ Shounen chapters. But in any case, people work with whatever their hands can get on, so this week, I tried to do the English OP fans a favour, by translating this "raw" (stictly speaking, it isn't), into English, so people can have their fixes.

I know how it feels when you read a chapter in a language you don't understand (like me reading the Jap raws and waiting impatiently for either the Chinese or English scanlations), So that's why I did the Chinese -> English translation.

I probably won't need to do much, coz Jap raws usually come out first, but we'll see how it goes.

Oh, I was just confused, I was thinking like "if we go international and expand manga out to the world, we'll become famous!" Heh, international fame is something one can dream of. But you're idea is a good one (depending on which version comes out)

but you don't really need to praise me because 'using what's available' isn't my idea... it's just what people do. ;p

Yeah that wouldn't do us good... I know what kind of work you did... translating is a long job and you got to work hard if you want to do something good... keep up the good work^^.

the thing is if i've never been reading the chinese manga, it's not going to be obvious with getting the names right... i'm sure u know what i'm talknig about ;p

but now that i'm a little more exposed to the chinese OP, i'd know what's going on in the future.

I think you do good. Veni-sama read your translation and still say we use it so i think he trust you. aNd that you improve too.

Since, FH do HQ OP you not worry about reputation. I think veni-sama wrote somewhere that release is your 2nd translation so people bear with it.

You do nice. Just make sure to add this line and to do this:

" This translation is only for FH use"
"And post the translation on this website"

if you want post it on another site like MH just post the link of the thread you creat on this site on that site always
