Something that I have noticed, and it's been bugging the hell out of me. As I re-read through some Rosario + Vampire Chapters, I've noticed that the Academy is a bit....lacking with Technology. So far I haven't seen any computers, no printers (well, computer printers at least), no TVs, no VCRs nor DVDs, nothing like that. Same with the Anime, I haven't seen any advance pieces of technology. For example, in Episode 8 Tsukune wanted to photocopy some of Moka's notes but then remembered that the school didn't have any of those kind of conveniences. I was thinking to myself "Oh for god's sake, they don't even have a photocopy machine?!" So, my question is why is this school lacking such things? Or did I miss out on them?

Umm... Doesnt Yukari have an apple computer in the newspaper clubroom? And how do they print out all those copies of the newspaper? Plus during the whole school festival prep thing, one of them had a tablet pc.... So it does exsist, we just dont see it... But thats just speculation on my part.

But they would only have to worry about that if they knew humans attended the Youkai academy... Judging from the fact that most Youkai fear humans in a sense, I dont think they would purposely tell the human world about its existance.

You gotta admit, that humans can be pretty damn ornery when gathered together in a group and lets face it, humans outnumber youkai a good thousand to one. c'mon, only one highschool in all of japan for youkai? and theres only like a thousand students there? Why do you think whats his face wanted to expose the existance of youkai to the human world? He wanted them to be fighting, and odds are, now that the majority of weapons used in the world today are firearms(some of which have enough kick to punch through a concrete wall) it would be like it was in those old books and stories where it took an army to take down one. more like a squad of five or six for the mediums and a large group of 20 to 30 to take down a big one.

Yeah, on one hand the school is mainly for teaching the students to blend in with humans and to learn the human ways to help blend in. But it does help by having technology since it would seem real strange if they didn't know much tech stuff when they go into the human world. I did notice, though, that you see some more tech in Season 2 such as in Chapter 4 of Season 2, the Head Board Chairman had what looked like a homing beacon to trace Cocoa's....bat....weapon...thing whatever the hell it is. The barrier that surrounds the school is quite interesting, as I had always felt that it seems to mix in Technology and Magic together (sorta like how some devices in the original Doom and Quake worked, some devices you ran across seemed to have technology and black magic mixed in together). Having internet may have been a problem as they probably wouldn't want any of the students to have outside access, or at least limit it as much as possible.

Hmmmm......now I'm starting to see maybe why the school doesn't have much technology. They may want to limit the amount of in/out traffic to and from the human world as much as possible.

Of course, I wonder how they set up the dorms, most likely it's separated, but to have Tsukune get invited by Moka to study in her room..... maybe he'd have to sneak in, or they may be a bit lax on male/female dormroom visits.

Hmmmm.......a very interesting theory and if it were true it would be one hell of a huge twist. But if this is what the Dark Lords were really planning for the school, it may not work out as well as they had hoped. Imagine, many of the students who graduate could (on purpose or unintentional) end up falling in love and taking a human spouse. If they gave the signal to attack the humans, those who take a human spouse. After all, it is popular (especially in Japanese Myths) of Kitsune spirits, Yuki Onnas, and other monsters taking up human spouses and having kids with them. If they were ordered to attack the humans, it could mean to attack the family of their husband/wife, and they could hesitate to do such thing. Slightly off topic, I sorta can't help but to think back at Chapter 27 the Assassin that went after Tsukune mentioned that he had a woman of his own and that despite the fact that he loved her he wanted to eat her (he gave specific and grotesque descriptions of his desires). I wonder if he *really* did eat her. If true, that would be heartbreaking.

Maybe I'm thinking too deep with this now, but something I've thought about. Despite the Yokai being powerful beings I think they would be at a disadvantage due to human technology. Sure, the humans are physically weak with no special abilities but they possess some impressive technology. I read the Raw of Chapter 36, where the main Villain held the Yokai girls at bay merely with a Colt .45 handgun. I was expecting Mizoru, Kurumu, or Yukari to stop him with their special abilities but they actually didn't, much to my surprise. They just stood there and froze. And the Public Safty Commission all had swords but no firearms or other modern weapons of some kind. Pretty low tech if you ask me. It may be to the school's best interest to include education on modern day technology such as Computer classes. Of course, Mr. "Average joe" Tsukune may have trouble keeping up. :D

Ehhhh, not really. I'm just yanking your chain. :D But back on topic, I did see a screenshot of a laptop in the R+V DS Game so I guess you'll find some advance tech here and there if you look hard. However, we could see the see the school have some advance tech in Season 2 of the Manga, since the place seems to have been rebuilt. Who knows, we may see some advance pieces of Machines or even basic robotics, or perhaps machines meant for helping casting more spells at a more efficient rate.

I got a crazy idea while in the shower tonight. What if a character were to show up as a new transfer student, but is also human.... to a point. This character is not a yokai or totally human, and not a ghoul like Tsukune.

It is not known what he is, but he is strong, even stronger than Dark Moka, but is otherwise friendly and ends up joining the group (newspaper club). But his primary quirk is that he refers to everybody at first, including Dark Moka when he finally meets her, as one or more various food dishes. Doing it in such a way to give an impression that he can, and will eat monsters, just like they eat humans.

He even mentions that he has no qualms in doing so, even going so far as to describe in grotesque detail how he would prepare and eat them. He may even admit that he's eaten a few monsters, thus even renaming certain human dishes with a type of monster name attached, to emphasize which monsters were best suited to each dish.

Now the objective is to develop how the characters would react to this, and to see if something could be thought up that in theory could disturb even Dark Moka, and speculate how she especially would react to being seen as a food product.

Example for Mizore: Yuki-Onna Margaritas.
Example for Moka (either): Vampire Rump Roast, and/or Vampire Blood Wine.
Example for Yukai: Witch Lam Chops.
Etc. Etc.

Only Tsukune would excused from this, as cannibalism would be the reason given that he's not seen as a dinner table delicacy. This would lead the group to suspect that he's human, but his inhuman strength, speed, and abilities would state otherwise.

P.S. This is an attempt to relieve some of the boredom. And also to release some of those sick and twisted minds.

EDIT: This is the how and why of this character:
Sonrota used to be fully human. He was a child prodigy just like Yukari. He and his family were working in a small research facility on an island in the south pacific. Their research was in the field of human enhancement through genetic manipulation and nano technology.

However, a small group of ayashi got wind of this and misinterpreted it as some sort of weaponry. They then went and attacked the island in an effort to foil this sinister human plot. Little did they know, that it was their attack that forced the child researcher Sonrota to inject himself with the still unfinished prototype serum in an attempt to both hide the secret of their research, and make an attempt to survive the massacre. Both objectives were successful, however there were dire side effects.

Through the changing that Sonrota was undergoing it was unbelievably painful, that and watching everyone around him die and get eaten by the attackers broke the poor kid's mind. This drove him insane and he went berserk. By the time the dust settled several weeks later, the attacker ayashi were nothing more than scattered bones, picked clean of their flesh. Even the human remains were savaged in the same manor.

For several months Sonrota remained in that state, running on primal instincts alone, until one night, as if waking from a nightmare he regained himself. When he finally began picking up the pieces of who he once was, he was still very much haunted by his resent past. He destroyed all remaining evidence of the massacre and assessed his own condition.

Physically, he had become a prime specimen of a human, but he also noticed that his mental state was in shambles, but he still managed to function well enough to resume his research.

His physical body was not only enhanced beyond the norms of the best of humans, but laced into his body was the nanotech probes and control circuits. Somehow, it had integrated into every fiber of his being. So he analyzed the data he'd collected and was then able to figure out a way to interface with the now integrated nano computer in his body.

For several more months he worked on improving on all that, by automating many of the functions of his tech enhancements. When he was satisfied that he'd perfected himself, he proceeded onto dealing with his sad mental state. He vowed revenge that he would not let another incident like that happen again.

He traveled to Japan and enrolled in school under an assumed name. Not long after graduating from an average middle school did he discover Yokai Accademy, a potential breading ground for evil.

There, that should shine some light on this character's(Sonrota) quirkiness.

I was thinking more along the lines of the manga. When I read manga, I will often be listening to my mp3 player, and sometimes, a song pops up and it feels right for the scene or mood of the situation in the manga.

check the connection. If its not optimal, a continues data stream like a download would overload it. It also might be the modem itself. How long have you had it?

It could be... An error might have occured in the modems drivers... Take every thing that you want to keep and put it on something outside the computer, Like a cd or a seperate hard drive, and then use the system restore disk. It should reset everything to when you got it. If you dont, then take it to a tech so that he/she can do it.

Well, if you have a mp3 player with a gig or more of drive space, you can transfer to that and then transfer it to another computer temporarily. That is how I do it most of the time.

network issues? check the lease time on your connection.

go to a command prompt (start > run > cmd)
then type in ipconfig/all

that will show you your connection, and about 1/2 down should show the lease time, sometimes it is set short, like an hour or 5-10 minutes, which causes series issues

Once I got very pissed about some 7zip-files. I didn't know that you need an own prog for it. So I ereased 5GB. Afterwards I found out and was very angry at my self ^^ SHIT HAPPENS !!! You can't fight faith......however you can try to avoid it......^^

@ ff: Try upgrading your unzip wizard. There might also be bugs in the program. And sometimes compression does corrupt... its not uncommon. I dont know what else to say since im just at the basic level of repair.

nah i downloaded the file many times and checked the integrity usuing some website it wouldnt let me download patches for games like Dawn of war dark crusade and killed my online gaming with it XD though it seems to have gotten better lately it has no problems with torrents but then again i once downloaded a 8 g.b. torrent and when i un zipped it 2 out of 40 odd episode were not corrupt XD

NOTE: The temp-vampire form is BEFORE he gets the holy lock, after that it pretty much dissapears
