me vs. cleaning test

I have been using PS so quite some time now but never do any cleaning-related job :p. Please lemme knw what you guys think of them.

Blood+: Level - Erase dusts - Redraw the missing part in the middle.

Naruto:
1st try: Level - Crop - Get rid of the words - Redo frame - Blacken where it's suppose to be black - Burn - Typesetting.
2nd try: Same with the 1st one but I ran it thru NeatImage before Burn.

- try different fonts
- overlevelled (lines aren't as neat as they should be)

Naruto2:
- blurry (you can get rid of that, by hitting ctrl+i, selecting burn tool, setting it to 10% going over whites-now they're blacks and hitting ctrl+i again)

Summary:
- learn denoising

well you seem to be doing nicely, especialy on the Blood+ page but on Naruto...well I have to agree with the 2 above and add that the first round goes to the cleaning test, now read this (http://www.franky-house.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144) tutorial and kick his ass in the 2nd round ;)

thanx a lot guys! it's true that I dont have any experience with denoising, all I did was to run the image thru NI, change the settings a bit and hoped it turn out ok (obviously it didnt). Ima try again soon, after finishing evil hw :D

u have to play with the setting to get good result and of course do it when your page weight is 3000 :D

but maybe you over denoise it i think..
you can see the background is blurry, i don't know the result if you burn it :p but i think it doesn't look good if you burn the bg..
and your typesetting, on the left, you can make it center of the left :p i don't know how to tell it XD

well I've been having problems with openeing your pic(only me since my computer is messed up by a virus T_T) anyways I can tell you(from what I can see from the thumbnail) that the typesetting is good, don't listen to him^...since it looks good like this as well, but when typesetting a bubble you should (ofcourse) center the txt. Anyways Naruto is not a problem to do, but what I would like to see is a page with a lot of greys - like D.Grey Man or OP, or Bleach, or Mx0...possibly uploaded to Photobucket as well...for me ;)

Edit:
And about the blur thing, if it's there since I can't see it from the thumbnail...there's an easy way to get rid of that XD, for example if you didn't set your NI profile yourself but just clicked on auto-profle and it picked the part from where to profile itself(probably Naruto's black shirt) and if you set it up to -10/80 like in that tutorial...then you should adjust the first one (-10%) to around +20/30% - until you see that the blur is gone, or you can set where it should auto-profile yourself-on a white spot with as little of grey and black as possible would be my suggestion to all beginners and set it to -10/80% ;)

ok, I have to say that the Naruto page is good, no need to add anything else to it :p, it's not overleveled or blury but pretty good...if you can do these 2 pages nicely I'd say that you're in ;)

naruto page well yeah it is blurry also i can say it is overlevel since the background is start to fade away see the clouds

always level less and burn more :D that is an advice from makmak of course until u can level right :D but u shows some improvment :D


OP page it is very blurry and overleveled since u can see how dark the page is :p but the typeset is very good u can start with FH as typesetter with no problem but cleaning need more work :D

sweety(I'm gonna call you that since every time I think or wright apple pie I get hungry ^^), the OP page is blury and overleveled but yeah we need typesetters as well, and you're typesetting is really good so I'd asy that you can strt, as a typesetter ;) but learn how to clean better since a cleaner is priceless :D

*sighs* I just cant seem to get the idea of over-leveling and right-leveling :< But Ima redo OP plus try those two pages Anon gave me earlier so dont give up on me yet!!!

Questions: Does the sfx on the OP page I did look ok? Do we have some sort of type-setting test that I need to pass? Do I get to choose what manga I want to work for? Does each project have their fav. fonts that they stick with or I'll have to pull my own hair out deciding which font is better? Do you think being very bored on Sat night is a good excuse to play 20 questions here :P?

@ mad: according to you my Eng teacher is a lesbian, ew thanks but no thanks, she was annoyed coz I handed in essays late and was playing dumb in class.

ahahaha, not ment for the nick but "the apple pie" sweety, and on the questions:
You're already in, as a typesetter if you want to, and improve a bit more on cleaning and you pass as a full scanlator ;), and every manga has it's own fonts, we usualy pull our hair when we get a different bubble then the usual for that manga to typeset...And you pick your own work, no one makes you do anything that you don't want to do....and being bored on a saturday night is a very good excuse.....but my advice is to get someone to eat apple pie with you....you won't be bored then XD

at the beginning, post pngs+psds, it's easier to correct sth that way and everyone makes mistakes at the beginning ;)

ahh, and that cleaned page is a bit blurry and oveleved and the redone sfx in the last panel ....hwen doing the sfx add some noise to the greys ;)
Filters>Noise>Add noise>5-10%>monocromatic ^^
