Hello there everyone!

My first official thread so i hope it doesn't get deleted...

But i couldn't find any others with this specific kind of thing so i suppose it should be okay...

Anyway, just post some pictures that YOU made!

Only you! No stealing other's because i'm almost certain other people will know!

Anyway, whether they be fully CGed wallpapers or some simple sketches!

It's all good here!

Then you can give criticism or whatever (as long as it's within reason o_O).

just one of those pictures took me a bit over two weeks (drawing with a mouse is... well, you'd have realized just how hard it is... 'draw, ctrl+z, draw, ctrl+z, draw, detete, etc.'),

For sure guy, no worries! I'd actually be happy if you did that!
Although, i should probably say this now, so... there are those who think that once i gave them their pictures then they could just chuck their own names on it and take away all my hard work!! >.<
Taking the pictures and putting their names on it isn't the part that bothers me though, because that's what you do with signatures, avatars and such, it's all good...
And yes, it's happened before...
But what annoys me is that they all go around saying that THEY did it!!
It's like, the one most annoying thing for aspiring artists and it's no different for me!
It's like slaving over something, putting your heart and soul into something that could be great for someone else, only to have it ripped up and thrown back in your face!
Or in this case, taken away from you!
Anyway, enough b*tching from me... ^^;

That there wasn't exactly directed at you specifically but it was just kind of a warning to the general public, or more specifically, 'those types' that are explained above. Sorry for the endless rambling...

Ah, actually, i've had a bit of a run in with him on other forums!
Or maybe not, they could just be the same name...

Anyway, when i do get you that picture you can edit it any way you wish,
even use photoshop if you want, and you don't have to put my name on it or anything!
I actually find that it tends to wreck the feeling of the image when it gets to more than just one name... but as long as you don't claim it as your own you can scribble black lines all over it and i wouldn't mind.
Of course, in the end that means i never actually put my name on my pictures, so it's like i'm asking for it... ^^;

nah, more practice... basically in my case its talent, my father has good hands, my father is an architect but he can sketch a real persons face or its what you call charcoal sketch..basically it is aquired when you take fine arts:D well its past.. :D it doesnt really affect me.. :D

one thing i could sugest is.. master each aspect first (master it) like the eyes, nose, face, hair, joints, body figure, shading, shadow, light source.. etc.. :D

if you want to master the art of eyes, just draw eyes in a whole bond papers, if possible try different expressions..:D then after you master those aspects, here comes the whole art.. (its just the combinations of what you practice)

Oh, by the way everyone! Here's a little thing i did for my studio arts class some time ago... I think my theme was the '7 Deadly Sins' and here being one of the characters, she was supposed to represent envy...
Or maybe it was lust... anyways, i can't remember, guess it doesn't matter now...

By the looks of my sketches it almost seems like i downgraded... T_T
But you know, i seriously had to refine that sketch a number of times, and then colour it in photoshop, before it ended up looking like that. The original sketch is actually pretty embarrasing...

And these ones; I've stolen the characters from a game called Phoenix Wright, I'm sure you've heard of it, anyway, after abit of this and that they somehow ended up in a doujinshi, or h-manga... whatever you want to call it...

Eheh, to tell you the truth that's one of my... what would you call it? An alias? Think of it as a pen name... Although, it started out as just a little thing which i would do 'on the side', eventually some people glorified me (Ugetsu) and since then it's spiralled abit out of control... T_T" I think some people have even dedicated entire sites to some of my work and made up weird statistics... Like, have you tried wikipedia-ing me (Ugetsu)? Almost all of that is fake... if it was true then i'd probably be like, 30 something years old... T_T

To tell you even more of the truth, Ugetsu Hakua is not even one man, more like a collaboration of people (some of my friends and i, then some people who use that name for the sake of it, i think...), i don't make mangas you see? I only work on the fantasy art aspect...

Don't tell too many people though, you know what i mean? Some people have even gone so far as to call me a fraud when i tell them and it makes me SAD!!! and angry, just a bit...

Anyway, in the end you still don't believe me then at least keep it to yourself... whenever i hear someone say that 'someone like me isn't capable of doing work like that', it kind of breaks me and makes me not want to do anymore art... T_T

lol, my father likes a lot of animes.. my hobbie is his hobby too.. nah, he sketch it for me after seeing me sketching it, but i can draw anymore right..:p so my father sketch it out if pity and love :p btw, my father like tsukihime, kenichi, claymore, tokyo underground, gundam, bleach, naruto, and etc (anything action he loves it), it irritates me sometimes coz, i have classes for tomorrow and he stays up until 2am in my room watching my animes, (we both have to wake up early) :p

@ Ravaging : Illustrator? Never heard of it, is that some manga illustrating prog or something? And if I had a tablet I would have no problem drawing over the lines in PS, but no tablet = lame

Illustrator is an Adobe program. It's vector based, which means all the lines and shapes you create are mathematically based so you can resize without loosing quality. It is a wonderful program but there is an open source program you can use as well, I think its called inkscape or something similar.. (note that flash is a vector based program as well)

Well, a good thing to remember, something that's helped me when i was starting out, was to make sure that you constantly kept in mind what it was that you wanted to draw and to try and see it on the paper...

I heard that it's a bit hard for some people to do but for me it was a really useful skill. Nowadays, after lots of practice, i can practically trace over the drawings in my mind and translate it directly onto the paper. ^_^

My hands are just a bit innacurate though so they usually don't turn out as I'd planned. ^^"

Indeed Hinamori... though it might take awhile because there are a few of them... o_O ...And i do apologise for each and every single one of them!

@jehanaruto: I'm pretty sure i wrote this before but i guess i forgot to submit or something...

Anyways, yeah, my tablet doesn't listen to how hard or lightly i'm pressing anymore! Just touching the pad, and i say just, might cause a big, black blotch to appear on the screen... and sometimes, no matter how hard it is pressed, the line that appears is fainter than the colour = '#000001' so yeah... It's totally broken.
