No, not the wrong section, but have you tried reinstalling PS and when does it say that invalid file part?
Oh, and there's a huge lack of gimp tutorials mainly coz people rarely use it for cleaning since PS is better :p

You could always try CS2. I essentially see CS2 and CS3 the same. And I can assume you're a beginner, since you're trying to install PS. Nothing is really that different in CS3 unless you're an advanced+experienced Photoshop artist. And almost all the PS guides out there work for CS2 and up.

Yeah....you're hopeless at computers I assume
Those are the installation files, you need to INSTALL Photoshop.
It would also help if you read instructions. The instructions (usually in a .txt file) will tell you how to install it. Since I don't know where you downloaded Adobe-PS2 (and whether or not is has a key or not) I can't really help you. Just read and find out.

Why would it take 2 hours? it only took me like 5 min to install PS2 on my old computer the other day (its a flipping 9 year old computer!). Are you sure you applied the key/crack correctly? Also screenshots would be nice to describe what your problem is. Incase you don't know how to take a screenshot, press the button "Print Screen" next to "F12" and then paste it into Microsoft-Paint, save it, then upload the file to whatever image host

start >all programs > Adobe Photoshop CS3
if that doesn't take you to CS3 then go to program files and open Adobe > Photoshop CS3 and find the .exe (a blue icon with Ps written on it)
if that doesn't do anything or there's not a folder/icon like that you didn't install it correctly or you got tricked with smt else when you dl the file...

if it's that I can give you CS3 extended version dl link so you can dl that.

Did you download from torrent or something? Usually when you download ANY PROGRAM you'll get that folder which holds all the installation files in there. That is where the setup.exe or something should be. And there should be a set of instructions in there as well. Unless you downloaded PS from the site, then you just downloaded a trial and I say that won't work. if you did install it and when through the loading bars and stuff then do what Anon said: Start>Programs and look for Adobe Photoshop

Basically look for either setup.exe, install.exe, or anything like that.
Then see if there are a set of instructions (usually in a .txt format). Follow the instructions in there and thats how you install. I don't get how this could be hard, I mean anyone over the age of 13 could figure this out.
