Well, this little written work of mine can be seen in two ways. One, very original or two, a fanfic of One Piece. Though it doesn't involve any existing characters (Other then maybe a mention once in a while) other then the ones I event. The story has nothing to do with luffy, or any of the strawhats, but it does take place in the same world. And unless the Strawhats go into the South blue at some time, I feel safe starting this fanfic there.

If this is suppose to be anywhere else (I'm pretty sure its in the right place) Just move it to the right location please.

Quest for Fame
Arc 1: Assassination in Tekur, the Quest for Fame Begins!
Ch.1: Bloodstone O. Aerian.
Location: An Island in South blue: Tekur.

The day was warm, the clouds were, clear, the sky was blue, the breeze nice, the water was shimmering, the town was peaceful, the fish were jumping, the horizon was beautiful, and Aerian, the fisherman Fiishing shop owner, was sad. Today was, for Aerian, like any other day. His shop was empty, no one would buy from him. Every other shop around his was bustling with business, yet his shop was completely empty. practically a ghost shop. It was because he had an intimidating look to him. His name was not known, and he was not famous, but his looks made people look in another direction. He was 8'2, 623 Lb. individual, muscular, wore overalls with no shirt under it, and on his head was a fishing hat, with fishing hooks in it. He had tied atop his hat an odd shaped fruit. This alone would not scuffle his business though, it was the fact that he was a fishman. His specie being half fish, half Alligator. Ironically Aerian loved fishing and, to be frank, was really good at it. To top it off the place he currently resides happens to be a small little place called Tekur, located in the south blue. Tekur was, twenty years ago, held siege by a fish man pirate captain named Geov.

Geov was a horrible person who enjoyed using his specie of fish to sting opposing humans with his fins. Geov was a half man half Lion fish. Everyday Geov would take one individual from Tukar, regardless if the whole village payed or not, and tortured him with his barbs for the fun of it. Eventually the villagers grew sick of being torture slaves to this fish man and a huge rebellion occurred. Oddly enough, Geov died during the rebellion not of a wound, but of heart failure. Geov was born with a bad heart, and the rebellion was just too much for him. After this event villagers never looked at fishmen in the same light again, and would be prejudice towards the fishmen, whether or not their good or bad.

As a result, Aerian was not liked around the village, he was cursed at, charged double what humans were charged, and not allowed in most places. He was actually planning to move away (To the comfort of the villagers), and was in the process of building a fishing shop on a boat (Though, he wasn't good at building, so he was taking a long time, and he had no money, certainly not enough to buy a boat. He tried getting a temporary job at places to make some money, but no one accepted him. His only hope was that a miracle would occur and people would start buying from his fishing shop.

On this same, quiet, tranquil day, Aerian received his first customer, someone who was wanted by the military for his assassinations of high ranking marines and Navy officials. The mans name was "Flat Faced" Skiv, a small but violent man who made professional masks and disguises he wore when on a "Hunt". He came to the fishing shop to buy some fishing string for his masks. Skiv assassinated with a very rare weapon, the .2 Blazer, invented by the Military to conquer devil fruit users. The gun itself can blow a hole through iron, but the main shining attribute to this gun was its effect on the bullets put into it. It can only hold one bullet, but that bullet is nearly instantly coated with seastone when placed in the gun. In other words the gun produced seastone in its chamber.

Skiv was once a bounty hunter who was real famous for taking down big name Pirates and criminals. His highest accomplishment was the assassination of 263 Million Beli pirate known as "Steel Skinned" nill, who consumed the "Hard Hard Fruit", A devil fruit that hardens ones skin permanently. He became a criminal when he killed Vice Admiral Dekan. Both (And, to be honest, all) his kills were from a single shot to the back of his head. His bounty was put up for 84 million Beli, and is constantly being discussed whether to triple the bounty or not.

Anyhow, Skivs name has not reached tekur yet, and he felt safe roaming the village. His first stop being Aerians shop. Skiv bought fishing rod from an ecstatic Aerian, who was glad to have his first customer. This gleeful feeling would not last, for Skiv got greedy. Skiv pulled out his .2 blazer and pointed it at Aerians snout. Skiv usually doesn't rob from people, but he was low on money, and he figured hes done worst, so he attempted to rob from Aerian.

"Hey, Gator man, what I want you to do is open that cash register and give me all the money you have..."

"Huh?!"

"You heard me green man! Empty the register now or I'll put a bullet in your snout."

With a sigh, Aerian opened the register and turned it upside down. All that came out of it was lent. No Beli, not even a coin. Skiv stood there, with his flat face, emotionless. Skivs face turned to a shapeless anger.

"Your joking, right?! You have to be joking..."

"Nope! Heres all Ive got.''

Aerian picked up the money he previously got from Skivs purchase and placed it in his hand. Skiv snapped.

"Trying to make me look like a fool?! Die!

Before Skiv could pull the trigger, Aerian whipped his massive tail at his hand, knocking down the register in the process, and hitting the .2 Blazer out of Skivs hand. The gun flew backwards and landed behind some boxes. Skiv screamed in pain, but Skivs scream lasted but a second, for Aerian nailed him in the face with the back of his hand. Skiv fell to the ground, seemingly unconscious.Three villagers busted into the place, wondering what the commotion was all about. When they saw Skiv on the ground injured, not knowing he was a violent criminal, all three looked at Aerian and glared. One spoke up.

"Who the hell do you think you are?! Why did you attack this man?"

Seizing the opportunity, Skiv murmured from his his flat mouth.

"Wh- What did I do to get hit? I just wanted a fishing pole. I can't get up either."

Before Aerian could explain one of the villagers spoke up loudly.

"I knew it! All you fishmen are the same. Every single one of you are violent destruction loving beasts! I'm reporting you to the police!"

Ch.2: Skiv, disturber of the balance.

Aerian stepped back a few feet, confused and a little angry.

"I didn't do anything wrong! That flat faced man tried to rob from my store! I have the right to defend myself, don't I?"

The three became silent, and actually more angry. Why the hell would such a small man try to rob from a fishman as big as this guy? Skiv slowly got up, still wobbly, and looked at Aerian, dazed.

"Wh- Why would I try to rob from someone that big? This mammoth of a man attacked me for no reason... Do you see a weapon on me? What am I going to hold this freak up with?! My fists?!"

Skiv faked a cough, and wobbled a little more, almost falling down.

"He even broke my wrist... I did nothing to him, I didn't provoke him. I just wanted to buy some fishing line."

"Alright, I'm gonna get the sheriff, you just stay conscious alright mister?"

With that one of the villagers left the fishing shop. One of the villagers helped Skiv stand up, and one of the villagers gave Aerian one of the most piercing stares Aerians ever seen. the man walked up to the fishman with a scowl.

"You fishmen are complete scum. All you think of doing is punishing humans and destruction! Why cant you just leave us alone?! Your race is so damned violent!!"

Skiv coughed again, before saying something.

"Ugh, tell be about it..."

The one holding up Skiv finally realizes the flatness of his face, and freaks out just a bit.

"Jesus! Did that monster do that to your face?! God that must hurt."

Getting a little furious, but maintaining his anger, Skiv responded.

"No. I was born like this, I prefer not to talk about my face, so please drop the subject."

After apologizing the the man sits Skiv down. The door opens and the villager that left comes in with the sheriff.

"alright, heres the place. See that flat faced man?" The villager says as he points at Skiv, who frowns at him. "Hes the victim. That big fish freak with the sharp teeth attacked the poor man. "he points at Aerian".

The sheriff scratches his head. The sheriffs name is Sabbath, he is a veteran fifty year old sheriff who participated in the big rebellion against the fishman Geov twenty years ago. During the rebellion Sabbath received a huge scar down his arm, from fighting one of the fishmen officers. Other then the rebellion Sabbaths biggest accomplishment is apprehending a serial killer. Over the years Sabbath has earned great respect from the villagers of Tekur, and many seem to want him as a future mayor. The current one is slowly bringing down the village through steady tax increase. Anyways Sabbath walked up to the Fish man Gator, looking up and down.

"Really? Your a big un arn't ya? Fishman, of course he attacked the person unprovoked. The fishman race tends to be much more violent then anything else."

"Hey, I didn't do anything. That man-"

"Yeah, that small man tried ta killya? This villager told me everything on the way here, so don't spill bull ta me. Your coming to the department with me fishman."

"Whatever, this isn't right though."

"Don't speak about whats right or wrong. You deserve worse."

Aerian held his head low as he was lead out of his fishing shop. He looked back, only to see three glares and Skiv waving his "broken" hand at him while grinning. Aerian was mad, but he knew being violent would just get him into deeper shit.

"Hey, you need any help?"

"No, I'm alright for the most part... I'll be alright."

With that one of them helped Skiv up from the chair and left the fishing shop. Skiv looked behind the boxes for his .2 Blazer, finding it after about a minute of searching. Back with Aerian, the Sheriff put him in a holding cell in the police department. He would interrogate the fish man tomorrow, to hear his side of the story. Though Sabbath hated fishmen, he doesn't feel right unless he gets that persons side of the story. It would be the same case with Aerian.

Anyways Skiv went to the library to check out a book on famous people in Tekur. He found a book named "The faces of Tekur: Important people". After checking out the book Skiv went to the inn, and with the beli he "bought" the fishing string with he checked out a cheap room for three nights. Skiv checked out "The faces of Tekur: Important people" for one reason, he was addicted to killing people important enough to disturb the balance. He didn't know why, but he just had to kill these people. Anyone of importance in his radius (Which covered about a whole town or village, half a city, or about a quarter of a metropolis) was in danger. Be it a high bounty pirate or bandit, a criminal at lager (Which he himself was starting to become), Military official, government individuals, or someone as simple as sheriff. They were all in danger. The very thought of upsetting the balance of anything gave him flesh bumps up and down his arms. To him it was a vicious disease he could not control. he use to keep it subdued through killing big name pirates and criminals, but even this wasn't enough. He snapped with an urge when a vice admiral had his back turned to him. The Vice Admiral he executed was Vice Admiral Dekan, who had the respect of all his lower ranked men. Dekans death would set off Skivs criminal life.

Skiv never killed up front, he always shot from the behind. Most of the time he wore a disguise, and fooled his victims into thinking he was their ally. Be it devil fruit user or not, his .2 Blazer killed them. Seastone coated bullets that could pierce steel; Skiv quickly gained a huge name for himself, and gained an 84 million beli. He has never been apprehended, and hes only been caught off guard a few times (Most recently Aerian). One of the main reasons he hasn't been caught is he has developed an unnatural level of espionage. Hes a man of pure deception, his masks are lifelike and his disguises are well made. Another reason was he knew how to run, and fast. He could catch up to a cheetah and even pass it, Skivs max running speed was sixty four Mph, and could turn nearly on a dime. He was also a great liar, and twister of the truth. He had a very good charisma about him, a very good talker. His shortness and slim body gave him a innocent harmless look, hiding his true viciousness. And his very noticeable disfigurement gave him sympathy from the people (Though, this pissed him off more then it pleased him).

Skiv could care less about Aerian, but perhaps he could use the fish man as a scapegoat for when he killed tonight. He would figure out what to do with Aerian later, for now he looked through the book he checked out, looking for big time names. Their was sheriff sabbath, but he would go after him tomorrow night. For tonight he figured "why not start with the biggest name in the book?" Skiv searched, and found just what he was looking for. Skiv had never killed a mayor before, and figured why not start tonight? Skiv picked up a pin and put a check by the name "Mayor Budd".

Ch. 3: Mayor Hunting

Skiv spent a full two hours making a disguise to sneak into the mayors mansion. The suit was black, so that sneaking around the rooms wouldn't be too noticeable. His masks usually had details in them, but he just needed to fully cover his face, so it was a pitch black cover that shielded his face, so no, it didn't make his face any flatter. Though it was pitch black, along with his sneaking suit, he could see and breathe perfectly through it. His target for the night was the mayor, and he knew he would be guarded pretty heavily, plus he didn't want to be seen at all.

Like Sheriff Sabbath, Mayor Budd was in the big rebellion against the evil fishman captain Geov. Unlike Sabbath, Budd hid most of the time. When he heard Geov had died of heart attack, he bought his way to claiming the fishmans death, and thus got praise for basically nothing. Geov died of a heart attack, not of being killed. Non the less the village of Tekur wanted a hero, and Budd became that hero, albeit a fraud. Shortly after, about two years to be exact, Budd became the mayor of Tekur, and for twenty years has maintained that spot. Though physically, and all around, Mayor Budd was a train wreck, and couldn't defend himself to save his, or anyone else's life, he was good with the pin. That is he knew everything their was to business. To kill Budd would to disrupt the balance.

Other the disrupting the balance, Skiv did not know who, or care who this Mayor Budd was, and only wished to disrupt the peace anyway he could. Killing this mayor Budd would do just that. After slipping his .2 Blazer in his gun holster, Skiv climbed out of the inn window and snuck down the wall of the building. He made his way to the mayors mansion, quickly but cautiously making sure no one saw him on the way their. When in front of the mansion Skiv hid behind a bush, he wanted to go into the building through the left side, for it seemed to be the least guarded side of the mansion. Skiv snuck his way to a window on that side of the building, and looked through it. Their were three guards. One guarding the staircase, which he more then likely needed to go to find the mayor, one looking directly at the stair guard, he was right in front of the main door, and one leaning on one of the brick statues, asleep and out of the sight of the other two. Luckily non of the guards were looking in Skivs general direction, and the only guard on that side of the mansion outside had been prominently around the back side at the time, so Skiv chanced it.

Skiv opened the window slightly, glad that it didn't make a creaking sound as he opened it. He then quietly got into the building and closed the window. before he could be spotted Skiv rolled behind a couch right by the window. Skiv knew he couldn't get up those stairs without at least taking down the guard with his back to the door, and the guard at the stairs would notice if the door guard went missing. The statue guard would prove no problem though. Skiv would go after the door guard first, though the stair guard would eventually notice, he wasn't looking directly at the door guard. Skiv snuck behind the staircase, hidden the the shadows, and around to where the sleeping guard was. If that guard woke up now, Skiv would be screwed. Lucky for him the guard was heavily asleep, and would not awaken anytime soon. Skiv snuck behind that statue and to a large pot, directly to the side of the door guard. He noticed the stair guard was not looking at that direction at the time and took the chance.

Skiv grabbed the door guards head and swiftly snapped it to the side, breaking the guards neck and killing him. Skiv knew the stair guard would hear the snap so he swiftly tossed the dead guard behind the pot slightly. As he had thought the stair guard noticed a cracking sound and looked at the door. He noticed their was nothing there, and had worried. where was the door guard?! The stair guard quickly turned around to inform the guards upstairs, but to his shock a man dressed in all black was standing in his path.

"Sorry, I can't allow you to do that my friend."

It was Skiv. As stated before Skiv had remarkable speed that was nearly unmatched. Before the man could scream for help Skiv soundlessly twisted his neck. that guard was now dead as well. Skiv dragged the mans carcass behind the couch he first hid behind and placed it out of sight distance. If an outside guard was to walk in he wouldn't immediately notice the two dead body's, for both were hiding (The stair guard was hidden behind the pot, in its shadow). Skiv ran up the stairs, and was almost seen. Thinking quickly, Skiv hid behind a statue right by the staircase. He, very cautiously, looked from the statue. The guard stopped at the door and knocked on it. From the door rang an angry sounding, old voice.

"What?!"

"Sorry sir, I just came to tell you I finished organizing your papers in the records room."

"Oh? Well good. Carry on then, I'll go look at the papers in a minute or so."

The guard continued on with his route, eventually circling around the hall. thankfully for Skiv he didn't look back or to the side, and Skiv remained unnoticed. he was about to move when he suddenly realized, the man that guard was talking to was the mayor! Skivs goal was made easier, all he had to do was wait for the mayor to step out of his room, and Skiv would follow him to where he was going until he saw it safe to kill the mayor. Skiv waited a minute. Two minutes, three minutes. The mayor never left the room. He saw the guard from earlier again, and expected him to knock on the door once more. Alas, he didn't and he continued his route. Finally saying screw it, Skiv opened the door to the mayors room with his .2 Blazer drawn. No one was there! He had the urge to scream out a vulgarity, but restrained himself. Closing the door behind him Skiv holstered his weapon. He noticed the room was fancy. A bed, a desk in front of one of the walls, a ceiling fan, funky wall design, but no mayor. The mayor was lucky for now, but Skiv would not give up so easily.
