[Manga] Sekirei

Just read first 6 vols of Sekirei ( http://www.mangatraders.com/manga/series/326/ ) and I’m in shock! The story is pretty good and art work is nice as well. BUT! The thing that interested me the most, is that It’s a nice ecchi, harem manga. ^^ It really makes you want more.

p.s. I have a feeling that Gokurakuin Sakurako has breast problems ^^ since he sure make them big, not like I'm against it ^^

after watching an anime like dragonauts - you get use to seeing breast of the abnormal size. the tv series should be out during the summer i believe - i'm looking forward to that since the manga is really dragging on now.

I also read it recently and was pleasantly suppriced. I had expected it to be rather lacking in story from the shot description I read and had thus skipped it. Its has a decent story and commedy, its just that there are plenty of girls in revealing outfits and some of them have gravity defying figures. The artwork is of very high standard wich ofcourse makes all the girls look even better. I prefer the boob fetich over the panty fetish anyday too :catman:

well personally both sekirei and dragonauts started off really well - sekirei is just dragging now and dragonauts got incredibly sappy and lame after akira and machina got killed.

There are plenty of diffrent sizes and shapes of boobies in the series and its possible to recognise the owners by them alone sometimes :preggers:
But ofcourse the average size are pretty huge and they are rather absent of sagginess. Its not that fun when you catch up to a series as the normal release speed leaves you with a pretty slowly advancing story.

Well, there are boobs of all sizes in the series, even down to a lolli and the one 'pretending' to be male :)

Its just that the first of the Sekireis to show up have the largest boobs and you know that its easy to only see the good bits. If you can pull your eyes away from the big ones so are there some smaller ones around too, hehe. Hmm, it would be an interesting past time to sort the sekirei in bust size order :)

This manga is a clear proof that having a harem is alot more trouble then its worth. He almost got some action there early one when he had only one girl, but have been rather frustrated when there is a whole pack eyeing eachother jealously :Jump_Roll:

[edit]Solved it. It was the wrong magazine. Usualy Shonen is translated as Young (even if it literaly means young boy), but aparently the Young Gangan that Sekirei is part of is called Yangu Gangan and Shounen Gangan is another magazine from the same publisher. So no more panic!

A nice trailer, the fight scenes looks good and it seems that the anime will follow the manga faithfully. Lets hope there was some flak for the R+V anime in japan as well :)

The next chapter is realesed the 20th of june, so not that long wait now. There was a skip of issues as there was no Sekirei in the last issue of the magazine. I guess the mangaka took a break and helped with the upcomming anime. Its mostly the omakes that are realy ecchi, else its mostly very nice looking babes, so I dont think they have to change the story for that reason. The studio has a good reputation as well for doing quality anime, unlike the one involved with R+V. I have watched atleast one of their animes and it was pretty well made and according to some who read the manga so did they follow it well.

Just look at Seo's arm. It's deformed all of a sudden. Are god awful chara design.

Man, I am rather disappointed. This is about as bad as Gantz anime vs. Gantz manga. And the pacing of the story in the anime is so fast they are skipping many awesome comedy moments and bg info moments from the manga. I feel like I am watching an ova summarizing the main points of the actual series. It would have been so awsome if the folks who did Inukami from this studio were the ones recruited to do this series. So far I am NOT impressed :(

well from what i hear its only going to be like 13 episodes so that could explain the fast pace. as for animation quality - i personally think its fine. (your pictures are just regular things that often happen in anime.) as for comparisons between anime vs manga, honestly did you really think you would get something great ? likely hood of any manga going to anime always has different approaches and more often than not it will never live up to the "high" standard that some manga tend to give. if you guys are expecting it to be something great then you will probably end up in the corner with people who were disappointed with Rosario + Vampire and other various animes that went that way. (i only picked Rosario + Vampire since it was the most out of place in terms of portrayal and it seems there are more than enough people that felt that way.)

my personal opinion is i believe the pace they are going with is good. assuming that amount of episodes they will have is 13.

I tried 3 chihiro which was alright just had bad grammer sometimes like are you the one who catched me, titanium which is completely different translation but grammer and video quality look better, some other group who was pretty bad looked like they used chihiros translations but was mistimed and just bad in general, and Moetaku which i have but havent watched yet.

Musubi subs does a pretty good job, however, I don't think they have a website so you'll have to google them (HD releases). They've also only released the first two episodes so far.

But yeah I hope the anime doesn't throw out too many of the funny parts or throw in too many extras of those corny romance moments (Like in the first two episodes... I don't really remember the manga having that many sounding that lame).

Out of all the sub moetaku is the best, but is also the slowest sub, but for now i would say download chihiro for speed sub and moetaku for archive.

Moes has better sound quality and the grammer seems to be right.

yeah the last 4 chapters deal with homura so if ur a fan i would go read em tho he has some issues he goes through that ya might not like if youre not familiar with the manga.

Tsukiumi is my fav so i am glad she makes her appearance next ep. With the speed they are going i wouldnt be surprised if they caught up to the manga around ep 12 or 13 and then made up the rest of the story on their own. The manga releases way too slow i mean 3 years just to introduce all the characters is a long time just to accomplish that

Tsu has a golden personality that keeps things entertaining plus she is prolly the most dedicated girl to minata. All of Minatos sekirei are dedicated, attracted to him and want to be with him forever. Its a bit difficult to say anyone do so more then another, apart from personal preference. They are of diffrent maturity level, the order of 'birth' is in the sekirei numbers so obviously Kuu is very young, but also Musubi is alot younger then the others. On the other end so is Matsu and Kazehana older then the others and are a bit more direct in telling him what they want :DotheMonkey: But I find it a bit old fashioned to consider a woman a slut when she tells the man she loves that she wants to have sex. At the very least so would I require that she flirts with more then on guy.

All of the girls have their personal good sides, that is part of the charm of this harem story I think :) It wouldnt be quite as interesting if only one of the girls was charming. Some personal reasons for liking each girl.

Musibi - Most considerate of Minatos feelings and what he wants.

Kuu - Wont touch the underage :)

Matsu - Inteligent and thus interesting to talk to.

Tsukiumi - Fiercest at showing her feelings towards Minato.

Kazahana - Mature and relaxed and thus the easiest one to have fun with.

Homura - Deffinitly have an unique perspective on things.

Kazehana seems just as dedicated as the other girls to me. And yeah I guess she's kinda slutty but only for Minato, so I'm not entirely sure if that counts as being a "slut". She also renounced her infatuation with the director. And even if she does still love the director a little that doesn't mean she isn't as dedicated to Minato as the others are. I mean, look at Minato he's pretty much equally dedicated to ech of his Sekirei and that doesn't make his dedication weaker. Liking more than one person is by no means proof of lack of love. Just look at polygamy, which is a lot of harems.

But anyway an opinion is an opinion. Nobody's has to budge in an arguement like this.

Hmm, there were 3 prequel chapters, some omakes and a special (very sexy) art album. They initialy numbered the prequel chapters wrong so its possible that you missed some there.

Those looks like someone put their own text on excisting pictures. The black serkirei picture is from a flashback. Its the part that was first in the first anime episode, what he is actualy saying is that he killed them all as she wasnt there to stop him. The picture of Musubi is from when she just had Yume 'possess' her. The first two bubbles are actualy correct, but the last one isnt.

omg i finally found the best sub for sekirei its from a new group called Genjo. It releases mkv and avi and the mkv is only 150 mb you lose a lil quality but not bad. The subs are timed correctly, correct grammer, and seems to have the correct translation going off of the manga and chihiro. Its a shame that the new HD 720p release has yessys off timed, shitting translation used for the sub. If only you could take that and put this groups sub and karokee it be perfect something i would get off on .... sigh.... oh well but yeah go check it out i reccomend it

honestly i've kept up with Chihiro - they started to pick projects i was interested in and seem to keep up with the pace of releases. i know some people don't like speed subs but personally i think if you want quality just buy the dvds. as long as you can understand what is going on then there shouldn't be a problem.

yeah chihiro is doing the best job the quality is really good and the subs are good enuff to understand but they sometimes have grammer probs and a few eps have missing lines.

The rich kids sekirei (he is also in the last episode of the anime) is nr 05 Mutsu. So the 5 are sekirei 01-05, its also explained in the chapter that it was the first 5 only awake at that time so its realy clear.

There are some preview of the nexts chapter (its only a matter of a short time before we get all of it) that says that Yume was the leader and Karasuba the second in command of the second version of the Disciplinary squad. The 5 in the picture was the first one. And the current one is the third version with Karasuba as leader and Haihane and Banisubasa as members (dont know if anyone of them are higher then the other).

he means content this last chapter they had to use a Chinese scan so it has missing bubble lines and somethings dont make sense, but they are back to jap scans so it will be high quality again

I wonder who he will pick for his team and how he will make it up to the ones he leaves home? I got a logical teamup atleast: Kazehana, Tsukiumi and Musubi. Its pretty obvious that Kuu will be left home and probobly the same with Matsu. Homura was unstable recently so is probobly best to wait a bit longer before (s)he fights.

Its nice to see some progress, I was getting a little tired of the side fights. With the focus on the main characters again so can we see some more fun with them :)
