To-LOVE-Ru

Just letting everyone know that Ayako has just released the first episode of To-LOVE-Ru. I am downloading it now, it another show that is supposed to have romance which is my weakness so I am going to give it a shot.

It should be no surprise by now that if it looks like it might be decent and has romance in it I will at least try watching it. :p

i watched the raw awhile back - just some slight changes from the manga, but it was still enjoyable to watch. i have a feeling there will be more change to adapt it for the amount episode they plan on doing.generally the story hasn't ventured much in the manga so i don't expect any changes to really effect it negatively.

the romance in it is average one you see in most shounen series - massive fan service. lots of comedy, based of those two items. if you are fan of this theme then you will enjoy it.

edit: pretty disappointed no Special A raw yet was hoping to watch it before school

Meh, not a fan of fan service but I'll still give it a chance. Don't get me wrong I don't have a problem with things if it makes sense for the story/relationship progression but then I guess it really can't be considered fan service. Some good series do have a lot of fan service so I just have to hope shows are good enough to make up for it.

I am waiting for a sub for Special A so I will have to wait longer then you. :p

Oh Kure-nai was released by BSS.

Last season I didn't start downloading things till after the season was on its way so I already had a good idea what was decent. This season I am downloading right away so it will probably be hit and miss.

To-Love-Ru charm really comes from the fan service - it sets up majority of the situations that occur in the manga and probably the best comedy to result from it as well. as for the story/relationship progression its been pretty slow in the manga - that is the rest why i want to watch the anime since its restricted to a time frame. i believe it is getting 26 episodes, but they could just end it with nothing happening as well (i'm hoping for something to happen)

Kure-nai has lovely art out of the more newer series just so you know. the story itself reminds me of Aishiteruze Baby - this is just base off the first episode though. i'm probably going to stick to it because the art and music really got me into it. i'm hoping it either goes further into action or into romance to make the story even more interesting.

Special A will probably be ready with a raw later today and a sub maybe by tuesday or wednesday - it seems all the groups are trying to release asap for the newer series. Soul Eater and Vampire Knight airs today too.

planning on watching this too. Haha sounds like the trouble i had with shuffle pretty much all the girls were likable so you couldnt really choose one over the other and he couldnt go wrong with choosing Asa.

Well the first episode wasn't horrible and after Lala's initial introduction there really wasn't any fan service. Still have to wait a few episodes but so far I don't mind it.

As for Shuffle, Asa was my favorite female early on but Sia could have possibly become my favorite if she could have had a bit more time in the spot light.

haha Seto no Hanayome isnt that the one with the mermaides if so it was pretty good the ending is funny too. M/Y is pretty good its got some drama going on now it kinda has a wore out storyline but its still pretty good.

Yeah Asa-sempai is the green haired girl. She was a hot tomboy and like i said you couldnt go wrong with choosing her she was my fav in the show. My fav girl tho is Nerine i was kinda sad they didnt do much with her in the show.

Yeah it is the one with the Mermaids. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it after the first couple of episodes but it gets better the farther in you go. Or at least so far anyway.

lol you guys went off on a tangent from harem to drama - anyways i liked all the series that were listed shuffle, myself yourself and seto no hanayome. for the shuffle i wanted kaede - myself yourself was also a decent ending for something that turned all crazy near the end and seto was just pure comedy all the way through.

but back to to-love-ru, i would hope he picks lala - haruna had plenty of time. anyways going to check out special a, soul eater and vampire knights now.

haha well at that point i dont think she was lovin him too much. Keada was a sympithetic character and rin did act like an ass with her during that arc, but i never really saw them as a possible couple.

well the only thing thats good about this is the semi cute succubus tail she has and its that kinda fantasy harem genre that can be funny.

Well I won't be dropping it (Seto no Hanayome), but don't you worry I will get to M/Y soon enough. My work schedule is crappy so I don't have much free time during my work week so I watch a couple of episodes a day before work. Plus I have 3 day weekends usually, ten hour workdays, so I can usually knock out a bunch then too. Unless it's really nice out, in which case I have to escape to the outside world for awhile.

When I was still in school my best schedule ended up having Thursday off. I wasn't very lucky, I always ended up having to take at least one class on Friday or Monday. Though believe me, I would much rather be back in school then working where I am now. If I didn't owe so much in student loans I probably would still be in school.

yup yup it was ok but not as funny as kanokon and i could do without the transformation sequence since its just a waste of air time. Next ep it looks like its gonna dive into the harem drama so it should be better.

the transformation is just sound fan service - both To-Love-Ru and Kanokon just have the fan service pushed down and stuck with tape. i'm hoping a bit more of the story elements to come out otherwise it will get boring.

Well I haven't watched the next episode yet but less Ecchi, more romance/plot for me. I have no problem with them showing the female form, but come on have a reason besides "because we can".

its hard to make that case. Besides pretty much actual hentai series, To-Love-Ru is one of the series with the most ecchi scenes ever. Sure its still funny and whatnot, but that just shows that the series is actually decent enough to pull off that much ecchi whilst still being able to have a fairly fun and co medical plot line to it.

To-Love-Ru is quite the great combo of ecchi with a great deal of genders while balancing all ot the types perfectly.. so it doens't feel perverted while reading it xD

there is a lot of ecchi scenes but the since the story is interesting you don't really give that much of a deal to it.. you're drawn into the story and the ecchi is just a wonderful bonus ^^

well you aren't missing much - i honestly feel Rito is more annoying in the anime, but that could be from it starting from the beginning again. i personally think the manga has more fanservice (i.e. girls with skirts falling on Rito's face, magic spells opening shirts) this type is focus on the chest.

I like to watch the anime before I read the manga, that way the voices never bothers me as I havent formed any oppinion of the voices before I watch. I also like the way that you get a better image of characters from an anime so I form a view of how they are before I later read the usualy longer story of the manga.

Well I guess people have their own ways though I find it better to read the manga first to see if the one who made the anime is doing a good job or just made an anime for the sake of creating one and I also hate too much fillers which some animes have

well it could be on the other side of the coin too - quite a bit filler happens in manga too sometimes but it usually comes in the form of extended fight sequences.

starting with the anime is better because most of the time they cut things off and it's fun to find out those little things they cut.. it get's more interesting.. a great example is DNAngel - started with the anime and then read the manga wich has some serious story line changes but in another also good way.. it's almost like reading to diiferent stories with the same characters and plot

Naruto is actualy a good example of why I prefer fillers over the alternative. The later episodes have been rather slow as they are dragging out the action so as not to need fillers. I prefer if they use the main story at a faster pace and add fillers when needed.

Yupp. The basic problem is that the manga doesnt provide enuff story to keep up with a weekly release of anime episodes. So the alternatives as either increase amount of manga produced, drag out the story or add filler story. Increasing the amount of manga would ofcourse be best, but that isnt in the hands of the anime producers. So its either drag out or fill in. I prefeer fill in as then the main story is atleast keept at a fast pace and if you realy hate fillers then you can skip those episodes or fast forward.

Well basically that's it since I think To-LOVE-ru would not end up like Naruto where the filler episodes reached like half of the number of episodes. Maybe it would just be like Bleach where the it follows the storyline and only puts fillers when needed

I dont think To-LOVE-ru have the same kind of issues and its not realy that important to keep up with the exact same story either. I think Bleach is an example where they did something nice with fillers as they added an entire new story arc once. It might not have been an 'official' story but atleast it was better then a pile of one shot storys.

i personally like the way they made Zastin here - he seems to get more face time and they made him the way you described earlier as a comic relief. as for the side boob it varies - and i'm pretty picky about what counts so the actually number may be lower or higher depending on your opinion
