I started wondering why there wasn't a single thread about this great anime. With this thread I want to discuss Karas with those that have seen it and recommend it to those that haven't.
I first watched it on Veoh, then I bought it imported from USA because I wanted to see it with better quality.
For me this is one of the best anime I've watched when it comes to music, feeling, characters and style.
Karas tells the story of Otoha, a former yakuza (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakuza), living in a fictional version of Shinjuku (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinjuku), Tokyo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo) populated by humans and yōkai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y%C5%8Dkai) (Japanese spirits). He is one of the titular karas, humans appointed as superpowered agents of the land. Able to transform into a car, an aircraft, and an armored crusader; the skilled swordsman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swordsman) is to stop his corrupt predecessor, Eko, from taking over Tokyo. Supporting characters such as Eko's former henchman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henchman), Nue; the yōkai; and Homura, the karas of another city, help Otoha in his quest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest). A concurrent side story (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Side_story) focuses on humans affected by Eko's scheme.
