For this, I just using copy-paste, eye-dropper, and brush tool. And I left the red-colored text on purpose.

Using Copy-Paste thing, eye-dropper+brush tool, spot healing brush. Don't zoom too much, it'll look bad

Levelling a bit, then burn + history brush + brush (White and Black). Forget to clean the upper-left corner (text on the wallpaper).

Yet like some Pages before. A bit levelling and history brush and brush and burn tool.
Page009 Raw (http://img382.imageshack.us/my.php?image=01009ld9.jpg)
Page009 Cleaned (http://img377.imageshack.us/my.php?image=savinglife01009yj0.png)
Same with Page008.

Page010 Cleaned (http://img241.imageshack.us/my.php?image=savinglife01010zb1.png)
Like Page009.
I didn't use NeatImage (and other similar function prog) for denoising. I thought the raw quality were good enough. But the main problem was, whenever I used NeatImage, many parts were still too blurred even after I levelled it. That made me couldn't use Burn Tool anymore.

Nice job on color pages...but it seems the scanner scanned it well so you hardly had any work to do (talking about all pages in general). But take a look at the forums (specifically the "Become a Franky House" forum) and take the tests posted in the stickies. Take a look at the Tutorials to learn how to clean.

Either you're overlevling or overburning some of the black lines, because I see some of the lines are to speckly-rectangle and not smooth. There's nothing else for me to say except i recommend putting up thumbnails instead of just direct links, makes it easier to me to point and click which picture when I'm not wearing my glasses like right now.

You're doin good Kazewa, you are actually quite outstanding for a beginner. now a few notes.
Be careful with the burn tool after denoising. I noticed a few grey splotches in your whites because of it.
Like real said you are tending to over-level just a touch. you can tell by the stair stepping effect you get on black lines that curve. And I can tell it's levels not burn tool because of some dust spots left in your whites.
Don't be afraid to whip out the pen tool and fix up some of those white lines. They are lookin kinda ragged.
And I don't know how FH works when it comes to this (so if I am giving bad advice let me know), but don't worry about speed yet. At this point it is better for you to take longer and develop the skills properly then to just do it fast and develop bad habits. Speed comes with experience, so you will get fast trust me. When I started it took me an hour and a half to do a Naruto page (and it still looked like crap). Now I can do a Naruto page in about 20 minutes with way better quality. It is all about practice.
Keep up the good work and I am pumped to see what you do next.

I just realized this. When I rechecked some of the cleaned Blazer Drive Page that I posted above, I saw a lot of(not that much, may be)grey spots all over the page, appeared even in the place where it didn't have any grey spots in the 1st place, messed the page I cleaned. When I did it and before I saved it, I'm sure there were only some (not much) grey spots left. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my work?
The Steps of cleaning:
1.Open, didn't change the mode (greyscale), duplicate background.
2.Level : White to 200, Black to 90.
3.Neat Image : -70% (Top), 100%(bottom).
4.Level : White to 215, Mid-slider to 0,70.
5.Erasing the text with pen tool->fill(White).
6.Burn all black colored things, such as hair, pants, clothes, sfx (excluding black lines).
7.Erasing dusts and grey spots with brush tool(white).
8.Erasing Page Numbers with Brush tool(white).
9.Using Pen tool->stroke(history brush, 2px) for the white lines that inside the (black colored-hair).
10.Redraw Border. Line tool-->New Layer-->stroke(brush, 2px).
11.Save for web-->PNG-8-->8 color.
Not all, but most of the page become messed up after I finished.
Pls tell me which of the steps causing the problem...
When you level, there's no need to make a new layer, just go to "Create a new fill or adjustment layer" then go to levels
And why do you use the mid slider? only use black and white and don't use too much of the grey slider :p
Erasing txt with the pen tool, unless you mean Fill Pixels and elipse then it's pointless, coz you can doit with the eraser or the white brush
NI 70/100 - Why, when you can get the same result, well even bettter one's with msmaller ammount
Erasing dust with the brush tool?? How much time does that take?? Isn't it easier to use dodge tool XD
For the lines you should use line fill black or just put it to Shape Layers and use a 3px
And Save for the web is PNG 16-32 :D
But you're cleans are pretty good, and those tips are just so you wouldn't vaste too much time on it ;)
Oh and what's the series I saw in pages 08 & 09 of your clean?

Dodge Tool, huh. Thx, gotta try it later. I really waste a lot of time using brush tool for erasing dust etc. The 1st Post are saving Life, the 2nd Post are Blazer Drive.

Took me 40 minutes to finish this page. I really had a hard time deciding which to be burned to black or not. I looked the cleaned page by makhan (or FH) and used it as a references.

This is easy for me, but I don't know about the quality. And almost like a speed scan for me, only cost me 16 minutes.I run over dodge tool on grey parts. Not much, though. And I levelled the mid panel one more time. For the bottom left panel, I made a copy for the black lines around grey and Lucy, then levelled it separately from the Background. For the bottom right panel, I made a copy for the upper half of the panel and levelled it. All of it (mid and bottom panel)-->Black to 30.

I didn't think I'm gonna seriously trying to clean this. But I have fun in the middle and didn't really have any difficulty. But don't know about the quality.
*All of the three, I'm resizing them to h 1200px before starting to clean.
Btw, did u guyz (FH) using dodge tool for the grey parts?

I prefer using burn tool instead of dodge tool. It's burning blacks, so to clean whites you need to invert colors first (ctrl+i)

i rather like your neat image setting. Well to be honest i don't like how gray color turns into something look...uhm....like a plain gray color when they actually have noises , so yah.
keep up good work. I see few of your pages and they are good start for beginner :)
Yes your pages are pretty good :D, not much to say on those and dodge tool isn't for the greys but for dust on the whites if there's any left after the 2nd leveling!!
