actually it's not chapter -108 it's year -108 before the beginning of the storyline.

and I just read, and Dam, this is getting interesting

I didn't know those Vizards were actually captains and co-captains before, I thought they were the same kind as Ichigo, humans who became shinigami or low ranked shinigami who deserted and got the hollow powers somehow.

There must've been a big desertion by most of the Captains and lieutenants in Soul Society before that must've been cause by a VERY big event. Now I really want to know what that event was.
The deserters were : Kisuke, Yorouichi, Kurosaki('s dad), shinji, the sandal girl hayori, The afro dude (Love something) and I bet there were some more deserters. probably some of the lieutenants. like the Ero-onna.
I wonder who the punk-guy is.

I just re-read the chapter and now I noticed that everyone were "Captain(of the day) or Lieutenant(of the day)" What the hell? This chapter was good and all but I am really confused right now.

Well, it's pretty simple I think. They were all captains and lieutenants before.

That's possible. Better than my theory that they were just substitutes for the ordinary captains for one day. :p

Well we allready knew that urahara yorouichi and kurosaki were captains before and probably deserted together, but I didn't know the Vizards were like that too.

Woah...didn't see that coming. You'd think after 100+ years they would look MUCH MUCH younger. But I guess that's how Kubo wanted his little universe to be, shinigami don't age. Saves a lot on aging creams!

But woah.....I have my predictions on how things are the way there are now (how Vizards/Arrancar came to be, what happen to the old Captains, etc) I bet everyone who read the chapter have their own ideas on how this stuff happened too. The manga seems so much more dramatic than the anime. Another reason why manga over anime for me.

I expected that some of the vaizard were captains or atleast vice captains......
Shinji Hirako was 1 of the ones that a expected to be captain but...he was the first division captain....never though of that.
Rose and love.....are also captains, love being captain really suprised me =.= afro guy xD, and Rose wasnt also really in my expectations. I really wanna know what mashiro's rank wil be^^.

Kurosaka isshin is the one i mostly wanna know about.....maybe he was a royal guard of the spirit king and his power exceed that of all captains.....bleh we will see withing the coming months.

Another thing: he had some item only a noble has (that's what I think atleast), like yorouichi's stuff, the flying cape, staff and stuff. So maybe he was a noble too ?

well It was something different then the normal cape a shinigame captain was wearing, and there was something brown with some signs on it. So I assumed it was some special item.

I freaken loved this chapter and cannot wait for the others, and hopefully we see Ichigo's father as a captain.

side note, idk if someone already asked, but if Ichigo's father was a shinigami why didn't any1 inform him earlier? especially if his father was a captain or captain level why wouldn't one of the other's recognize the name, or was it that his father changed names? i am assuming the latter.

the old captains, like the 1st division, and isshin haven't met yet. maybe in the current arc where all the captain are going to kamakura town.

we'll just wait and see what their reactions look like. i think its right to assume that isshin is either presumed dead or exiled like urahara.

well, there are so many names in the world, and there could be ppl with the same family name, so you don't really think that a human who became a shinigami and is still human could maybe be the son of that former captain ?
