New Forum Features
After several requests.... Here are some of the key features with the upgrade that was done !! Most of these features come with the vBulletin core. This thread is to Discuss these features and to here your Suggestions. Thread Prefixes
We already had the thread prefix mod set up but rarely used it. Now it is vB default. Threads can now have administrator-defined prefixes to their titles.

Public Messaging
3.7 introduces the public messaging system, allowing users to communicate publicly via their profile pages.

User-Created Social Groups
To further social cohesion between users and to encourage people to make friends, vBulletin now includes a facility to allow users to create their own social/interest groups.
These groups are enhanced by having their own public messaging system, and the ability to add pictures to the group from user albums.

New Member Profile Page
In order to accomodate all the new features in vBulletin 3.7, the member profile page has been completely redesigned from the ground up.
The new page presents information in a far cleaner and more logical manner, while dividing up information into manageable chunks using a tabbed interface.
Individual profile field categories can be displayed alone in blocks in the right column, in addition to appearing by default in the 'About Me' tab.

Member Customization of Profile Page
The administrator may choose to allow his members to use the profile page customization tool, which allows users to alter fonts, colors, background and borders etc. of their profile page in order to create a more personalized look.

Navbar Notices
Administrators can now set up custom notifications that will appear underneath the navbar when visiting users fulfil specified criteria.

For example, one may want to set up a notice to display when a user is a member of a particular usergroup, or to show a congratulatory message when a user has posted their 1,000th post etc.

Staff and admins have a couple of features to make moderation and registration easier and simple..

Na, Ya wont change to VIP usergroup. Its gonna be a page with specail features for those people that have x amount of posts. Havent decided to make it a release page with just series and the links or a online viewer type of page.

That is forum, but if the chat will be only for V.I.P. people, there would be a lot less spam and it is a CHAT. It will not memorize everything, I mean cleat the history every 24 hours or so.

p.s It can be very useful in many ways.

Posts is interim suggestion- in long run posts may not be used at all. Only those in some Usergroup, new or not, can get access. Right is good if everyone make suggestions of what they wanna see in VIP club instead of post count discussion.

Yes, customizing your profile is cool, also challenging, make ya have something to do now to come up with some cool techniques.

Also, a mass automated pm is being sent out about profiles, so if anyone hasnt gotten theres and others have, just be paitent.

how would the script know it's replying to your post??? that sounds impossible. I guess it can only tell that someone is replying to the thread you've been replying (or watch), which can be found in "subscribe this thread" in your user control.

oh, that's more like "reply to the thread" rather than reply to your post. You can do it here too, click on "thread tool" and "subscribe this thread". So each time someone reply to this thread, they'll notice you.

Yes, I know there is a ajax option that you can turn on to check for new posts every x amount of secs but that is server intensity, that is why its off. That is the only other thing I could think of it could be but will wait for the image.

@ Mab: Ahhh that is reputation system. That is only user's that has given you good grace for a post. We can try that out see how it goes. So I enabled it .. to use it, there is a lil green dot to your left

To give someone a good rep for a post, look at the bottom on the left usually a scale (next to red&white triangle) to add to someone's rep for a post.

did you just download mIRC ?

Well first you must pick a name

you do that with : at the tabs with file, view, blabla there is Sysreset, then go to nickserv manager, pick a name

then when you are on that name do : /msg nickserv register password(here is where you should write your password)

then you can enter FH irc by doing /join #franky-house

oh yeah , next time you start again, you always have to do /msg nickserv identify password(here comes your password)

Wel what Mab just said was you can macro the option to indentify yourself everytime you connect.

to make it easier : go to tools > option click on connect in the categories. fill in your info there, especially Nickname. Then expand the connect option by clicking the + next to connect , then go to options>perform. Check on Enable perform on connect and fill in a command : /msg NickServ Identify password and done
