Question for translators

just really curious....
if u've translated a particular chapter...will you still read it when the scans come out??
since you already know what happened ><

the only reason why you would read the scans (that i could think of) is that scans are better quality than RAW...
what bout tanko RAWs then? if u translate from tankos will u still read the scans?

hrm.. I'll probably jus look thru to check for mistakes.. reading.. well I already know whats going on.. translating kinda spoils the enjoyment of reading a manga.. haha..

I'll only read the thing on onemanga when I feel that my translation is not up to par. (according to my own standards)

skim is the word i like to use. ive already looked through all of r+v raws, and when the translation comes out i usually read it, sometimes with the raw sometimes just to read it, then if i typeset some of it, i will still skim over it, but its always nice to look through the finished product... for me at least.

We love manga that's why we do it^^. Yes, it does spoil the chapters a bit but we have it all before you guys so I guess it's all fair^^.

I would actually read the story again as whole, because you're only busy doing part by part(that's what I think). I do that because I'm some sort of perfectionist.

I just noticed this thread! hopefully I'm not too weird in posting a reply to it now..

Usually after translating..I'm too embarassed to go back and look at it OTL;; since I read the original already, I always feel that my work will never do a complete 100% quality job in expressing what the original work says! (That is one reason I was so determined to learn Japanese up until my level..and I'm still learning! :)) Translation does takes something out of it I think (especially when that translator is as horrible as me)..but in order for others to be able to enjoy these works as well, I put my best into translating it as close to the original as possible!!

i read it afterward even if i typeset or translate it. I just want to take a look again at the finished project in CDisplay. Its became habbit :D But just like B-chan, i ALWAYS skip pages with lots of texts. HAHAHA
