This is a great anime that i'm watching, and i simply love it! I'm sure you have heard about it before but i still want to share it with you guy, and in case you like it or have seen it share your opinion with us!

i read somewhere that its a different studio doing the art - not sure if thats why it changed. the humor isn't same as before too but i still enjoy it. i also notice that they didn't really bother with making individual character details too - lots of shadow characters.

yes the studio changed for the second season that is why the art changed also, plus if you check out the layout of the minami apt its different, there is a table where they can eat, kana and chiaki sleep in the same room...but the thing that i'm the most sad about is the humor is a bit lower than the first season

Ive seen minami-ke first season, but second season not yet.... try to find it though.... can you guys tell me where to grab it....

overall this series is funny and I personally like kana.... that rude and energetic personality sometimes cause trouble.... and mako chan is cute... for the sake of haruka he dress like a girl.... any man here dares to do that???

ya i notice that too - the kitchen use to be in the same room with their kotatsu - i'm not sure but it seems like kitchen is in a whole different section of the apartment sometimes. might be my imagination - ya the humor is lower than before could be why some groups and ayako didn't start on it earlier. it could have something to do with the art style as well since it seems to be a bit more serious, but that could be from listening to the opening and ending song. it is as happy go lucky as the 1st season.

Indeed this wsa a great comical series
and there is Minami-Ke Okawari! (season 2)
Pretty recommendable for anyone that likes comic storylines!!

(nevermind the changes of design in Okawari.. due to this being made by a different studio... i ignore the reasons for such action... but whatever.. its still funny enough!!)

well usually both aren't "exactly" alike so for me it isn't too much of a big deal. not sure if they are still translating the manga if not i'll probably look for the raws to flip through.

as for favorite characters - i always thought the trio of Kana, Uchida and Makoto were always funny.

you just reminded me of that episode when they were contemplating what their family would be like if they were similar to each other. that was pretty hilarious sequence

Well... i personally think that it is not necessary for that to happen tough..

I read the manga first and then i watch the anime, since the manga is the original work, history and drawings... then the anime again entretains me and the moving visuals are impressive sometimes as i imagined and others.... well

but it can be done without spoiling one to each other!

meh, its more of a question of preference really in terms of reading and watching or doing one more than the other. its cool whichever way you do it.

hahaha the episode where haruka thinks that becose they have send the brother over they dont trust them and she makes this more dark voice and they think that they have been kidnapped... ahahah yeah!! in the same episode a funny part is when Fujioca (u write it like this?) acts up like a banchou (again not sure how its spelled) cause the other minami is close to Kana!!!

i found out something a bit sad.. Ayako dropped Okawari... or so their website says, it means we have to relay on Aho-Neko subs for the release of the new episodes

well when you see it i hope you enjoy as much as i did - it might be my expectations were low because of previous episodes, but i really liked it.

i watch both RAW and SUB - but i mean i've been watching anime since i was middle school. i'm sure you eventually pick up phrases and a basic understanding on what is going on. it different though for reading - can't make heads or tails on it even though i can read some chinese.

haha, the middle school thing gave it away right? i'm 25 - anyways the understanding thing is different for people: some practice it, some just listen to it and try to connect the pictures and some just know it. i fit more in the try and connect.

well I took japanese in Uni.... cost me only 1/3 of actual japanese course....

well chiaki is a fun girl in anime.... if I find her in real life..... that would be a diffrent story

i studied chinese for a good portion of my life and quite a few characters have the same meaning in japanese - i did take a japanese language course for awhile, but i didn't stick with it (was swamp with work and other classes to enjoy the class and learn)
i still stick with my original trio - Kana ( I AM BOSS ; the best banchou) , Makato and Uchida - I'm starting to favor Haruka , Maki and Atsuko in Okawari.

I haven't finished watching the 1st season yet. But so far so good.
Kana and Chiaki relationship was funny and interesting. The genius and the idiot really doesn't get along ^-^

there is one thing i wonder! where are the parents! i mean up to now there have been no reference to them...or if there was then i miss it! the only family we see is the cousin and the aunt (on the phone)

in the last episode the father and mother will pop out of no where! and we will see all different personalities of the 3 sisters! chiaki becomes attached to kana and lazy, kana starts studying and gets only 100% and haruka gives up and stop doing anything from morning till night!

but i think this idea would just ruin th anime! :Jump_Roll:

yeah, the last i've seen its 9! i download them as soon as the sub gets out! Hosaka, simply killed me at the end!

i thought it was nice they started to focus on some specific characters like yoshino - as for hosaka, i like his imaginations of haruka more but that was pretty funny.

well in okawari there as been only 1 epic moment (when he imagines things) and i think it was a bit sad! the first season was better!

ya he had so many moments in the 1st season - his imagination was pretty much the reason i thought he was a hilarious character. it seems he was reduced to a gigolo in the 2nd season - you would see him dress oddly in different episodes or showing off his chest like in this episode.
