Small Summary by Viz:

By night, junior high student Yoshimori Sumimura is a "kekkaishi"--a demon-hunter who specializes in creating magical barriers around his prey. By day, Yoshimori's got some other demons to battle: an addiction to sweets and a seriously crotchety grandfather! Yoshimori's pretty 16-year-old neighbor and childhood friend, Tokine Yukimura, is also a kekkaishi, but their families are feuding over who is the true practitioner of the art.cuz its that awesome and I never knew anyone else watched it until 2 minutes ago XP (i'm looking at you Ichiha). I've only been watching the Anime Version cuz I don't really know who scanlates it, and I havn't really looked (i remember seein some people on MH urakai i think are they caught up in series) also i don't know where to start reading it if i did.

Anyways, i like it. so post here to show your love for it too

Hmmm since i'm ichiha i guess, I should post about this since my name errr nickname is in the first post. Kekkaishi is really really awesome. Here's a summary form wiki:

Five hundred years ago, a feudal lord was attacked by demons wanting to retrieve his mysterious inner power, the invincible power that can help them take over the human world. The famous mage, Tokimori Hazama, was called upon, and with his 2 students, managed to save the whole land. But due to their sickness, the feudal lord was killed, his power buried with him at a site called Karasumori.

In the present day, Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs of the Hazama clan, became the kekkaishi protecting the land and the power. They use a technique called Kekkai, a form of magical barrier, used to capture and destroy Ayakashi (monsters/demons) that are drawn to this land. Any demons that come near to the power will become stronger and therefore Yoshimori and Tokine are to guard the land from intrusion by the Ayakashi.

But the demons form a powerful organization to take over that mysterious power. Yoshimori plans to destroy not only the demons, but also the power to completely save the world from being controlled by demons. To do that, he first needs to know what the power actually is, and also strengthen his poor kekkai skills.

I also like this series :) I started watching anime and I liked it too, but I think that manga is better :) It's a pity that it's beeing scanlated so slowly. Maybe we should start releasing Kekkaishi on our own :P

I started reading/watching kekkaishi a few weeks ago and i gotta say i love this manga. Although the plot development is rather slow compared to the other mangas that i've read (imo it takes til about volume 6-7 before it starts getting into its true plot). but...it is a fun and enjoyable read. It looks like minna-scans has picked up where urakai-scans has gotten stuck, so hopefully the manga chapters actually start catching up to the weekly japanese releases.

the anime is also done very well (although they rearrange some of the chapters..which is a bit confusing). I actually can't say which one i enjoy reading/watching more.

urukai seems to confuse me cause they don't have their chapters listed in order, but by order of release instead...how far are they? (without skipping chapters) i could have easily missed them, so when i saw minna-scans release last week and got excited, it may have been no big deal. i tend to be noobish like that.

so far, the mangaka has made the storyline flow smoothly, that means that saved feather should prove to be quite interesting! anime raw is already up to eps51. this is one of the few animes i've tried watching even the raws, even though i don't understand everything, it's still great to watch!

In the scanlated manga so far, the kokuboru arc just finished so it shouldn't be difficult to find the chapters your looking for, but maybe if you start reading from chpate 85ish you should be okay. chapter 85 = few chpaters before the horse dude attacks karasumi

just ifnished watching the anime, it clearly follows the anime but the anime just has tiny a bit different dialog compared to the anime. After the 52 episodes, the anime stops, but the manga keeps going. and gotta say, must read the manga!! :-)

Of course manga is better. Kinda like Rave (Master). The anime stopped at 52 ep (or till the end of vol. 12 in the manga). Why didn't they continue it like Bleach, Naruto, OP, etc. But I guess that's not a really good option too, coz It'll make the anime boring, by adding to much side stories

They have the permission ofcourse. Personaly I prefer fillers over dragging out the innsufficent material from the manga making the anme rather booring (check out recent Naruto).

Yep, that's the cutest and the best kind (type) of feelings that a female character can has for a male lead. Whether it's self denial or unrealised feelings, it'll eventually burst out with one (most waited) event.

It seems that Yoshimori sees Gen in Sen (LOL what's this a pun) and yah Sen transferred with the bat I think guy who always has his eyes closed and there was also a scene where they chat while both of them were skipping classes at the roof haha kinda funny since Yoshimori still has a pillow with him

But what happe with Masamori? The last few chap are very cool, showing a 'deep' strategy / mind thought / whatever it is called. I hope he won't have any funny thought regarding his last conversation with Mudou.

It's his alter ego,based on what tokine had mentioned. which most alter ego looks rather evil, or a diabolic look?? like in Bleach, Ichigo's Hollow, which Hollow.Ichi claims he is the alter ego of his zanpakuto, Zangetsu.
