Arcade Tips Thread!

In this thread you post tips for the arcade games.Help some people who are having trouble playing some of the games. The more the arcade grows, the more tips come along! So put your tips under a spoiler tag.

ahh trying to foster the competion, by giving out hint like make sure you watch the wind in downhill ski game ahhh nooooooo, don't make it even harder on me to keep supreme

Yeah I don't have real hints like a trick pass except for hexxagon. You gotta wipe out all the wite ones at the start. For the rest, just keep practicing :p I wonder if Goji'll get mad if I steal is moon lander highscore XD

Thats probably the biggest hint practice, set some goals and then just keep reaching them and setting them higher, if you get too frustrated take a break for a bit and try a diff game for a bit.

Yeah, just try to hold your cool, is very important! And lots of practice!

But since this is a tips thread, I have just a few pointer for the ppl who are having difficulty with the Downhil Ski game:

With this game, the wind is the key-point.

You'll have to start your run when the wind is at +1,5 ; that way you'll accelerate more quickly. By the time you've reached the end of the ramp, the wind should be around 0... And then you can just fly, making use of the wind that now comes from the opposite direction!

And Remember: try to hold your skis parallel to the ground! All that's left now is to push the space-bar at the right time again, to make a nice landing. -> You'll get style points for that!

And when all that works out, you'll have made a beautifull jump.

Now the only remaining difficulty is to make 2 such perfect jumps in a row... ^^

Thanx Goji! It's just that my moonlander record is 9000 and that 4800 was my first try when I joined the forum XD. Never played since then...

I can't even play that game wish someone had some tips for that game.

For the first 3 levels (there is only 3 levels in this game) you gotta be carefull on your landings. After those three levels you redo them and everytime you do them gravity's a bit stronger. But it's easier to land without crashing. Just don't keep pressing the gas buttons. Just tap them. It's easier to control and saves gas :p. Hope that helped ^^

Yes, it's not that difficult to play... just gets boring after a while; so to break a record you have to be a patient man. :p

and dont get hit by any cars ^_^. on a side note for later levels, the cars have a pattern and there is always like 1 safe spot, so once you see one make a break for it, and follow the traffic for a bit if need be.

Couldn't agree more with fiendish, also beware of snakes, crocodiles, and all the other virmin that inhabits this game. :p

Yeah it seems that way... you can change the angle with timing but if you don't lond on mine even a perfect hit would only make somethink like 3000 :(

ya, i wish there was something you could do to help it (help it go farther, not its acual well being cuz I think after hitting it the penguins already pretty dead haha) after you've hit it

yup, the Yeti one... no real strategy for it. On a sidenote: I really didn't know that a penguin's head could contain that much blood! o_o

And now that I've registered for the pacman tournament: can someone give me some useful tips or tricks for pacman? ^^

umm, make sure you eat all the ghost each time you get a sphere in the earlier rounds so you can rack up points early while its still easy.

Always get all the ghosts in the early rounds eh? Is that even possible? O_o I usually only get like 2 or 3... :p hehe Man, I'm a total loss at pacman! :D

its easier if you wait by a shpere and wait for like some to come close. 3 is still good but getting all 4 is where the big points are

Yeah it's me again the half-godly pac man player... at least we have the two highest score in pac man. Nobody would have join if we where at each end of the tournament: "Facing the Tiger or the Lion... I just won't join XD"

Well here a few i guess:
Balloon Hunter: Getting multiple Ballons in one shot = Major points

Tower Defense = Don't play cuz the highscore is immpossible... lol
but if you do, Ice towers are your friend, same with grass. Lighning one is major suck, at least for me. (B-one has higher than me so his strat will probably be better)

Track mania = make sure you get like right on the green line so you do the flips and do it like often cuz you get a bigger bonus multiplier.

Jungle Dave: The screen wraps around (ie. go out left side appear on right side)

Edit: I tried a new strat for TD and it work damn good (wave 77 i think), anyways like grass towers all the way, and line em up at the end of roads

I always place a grass tower (@) there and two water towers (*) there... then you upgrade them bye 3-4 level each and then you place grass tower here and there and upgrade them as fast as you can, even if the dots don't go there yet, they'll come soon "believe it "XD

Although the grass towers look weak, Its fairly cheap in comparison to get thier max upgrade, and their max upgrade, give them like a huge boost.

yes something like 3000 to 9000 damage with a total cost of 2700 something. The best damage/cost ratio there is^^.

For galaga space invader: kill as much ennemi when they pass over you without being hit...never have more than 2 rows of ennemies^^

You got to be quick on the draw to take out some at the beggiining to create a pocket of free space onthe left. Thats my strat anyways

Its 1000 for the first round, 2000 for the second...don't know what it jumps to after that.

and yes for mudball...move 2 chars to the top of the screen (out of harm's way) and then take your third to the bottom left and spam away. as long as all the guys are to your right, you can hit them, but they won't hit you. (its a fine line so be careful!) if you get hit, the guy is probably dead so just leave him to die and grab your next guy. if you can move fast enough the game "jumps" your char and you really can't get hit while getting back into position :p

as for the movie game...just play it enough to memorize the answers

I saw my friend kill themselves from the stress of trying to become the best arcade player, so i vowed to become a benevolent king of the arcade so other won't have to fight (because they can't beat me mwahaha)
