View Full Version : Rosario+Vampire Scanlation Progress
Hi there! I am creating this thread so that all of you, fans of R+V, can be aware of the actual progress of ongoing chapters. Any staff member may inform you on whats going on with the chapter currently being in scanlated in this thread.
Also, we will be updating and requesting for help on the scanlations when we need them here. Those of you who love the series, those who always request for fast releases, those who want to learn to edit to help out, those who already know how to edit and especially those who complain - hopefully when such a time comes you will help out.

Current Status: Chapter 025 being Edited. Help Needed. Read below for more info
Here I start: you probably noticed that chapter 25 [JPN RAWs] has been released some time ago. Well, we are currently short of manwork for this chapter, and for now I am the only one trying to finish typeseting - (there is so much text this chapter) and some other minor details like blacks and such (we dont want a crappy release, dont we? Personally I dont, since I am a big fan of R+V :p). Thanks to songaka for doing the precleans and most of the work- hopefully she helps out in the future.
Well, any extra hands that may help releasing this chapter asap will be greatly apreciated. If anyone knows how to typeset please post here or pm me. Also those that can fix blacks, etc do so - you wont have much to do on the precleans so sign up. Any kind of help will be great.

I don't know if there's a specific method of cleaning up black space, but I certainly have the time and the resources. And the talent. And the dashing good looks.

To save you guys some time + give you a Christmas present, I submitted the chapter on Mangafox. I just felt like doing something for all the R+V readers out there.
It's my first work too. :) Hopefully it's uploaded by tomorrow.

if ur gonna use my script the least you could have done was include my mangahelpers username and not just leave me as an 'unknown'... :sigh:

I'm really sorry about that. I just found it somewhere so I just put unknown. I can't do anything about it now, but at least I didn't credit myself! You guys did most of the work, really!
Believe me, if I knew it was you, I would have put you in the credits T.T
Anyway, critique me if you'd like. It's my first time ever doing this, and I figured it out on my own. Prior knowledge in Photoshop helps a BUNCH.

I think the chapter looks pretty good, could have been a bit better in terms of cleaning. Not to knock your work, but I'm sure translators won't take too kindly to being left out of the credits in the future. I guess you just didn't think about it, but if you find a script you really should do a bit more research into it's translator before using and publishing it.
I don't know much on the subject, but isn't there a way to re-upload certain parts of a chapter in mangafox?
EDIT: hey, abcd, I'm about to send a request to fix the credits page, any specific name you want me to use? or just abcd9146?

What are you talking about? It was translated by Uknown, not unknown :p.
Anyway, while it was nice of you to do it it would have been quite simple to find the translation (since it was on the same site as the one you got the raws from), plus the trans was reserved for Franky House...I don't know about abcd but I'm pretty tight about people using my translations if they are already reserved for a group or haven't given them permission.

Well guys, what's done is done. At least Onemanga will have your official version once it's done. It's now time to just work on chapter 26. Hopefully there won't be such a misunderstanding issue this time around.

ya i would love to sign as a editor but realy i'm not someone that only works with one scan team so i don't want to ever get over worked with stuff that i'm going to get chewed out for haveing a release late
Well, this is not payed or anything, its a totally voluntary work. I mean, if you apply, nobody will be barking at you to do this or that (at least if you work in a few pages once in a week, well, it will be ok).
And if you are doing some proyect, and dont have the time to release it, just tell any other staff member to do it (like me, I am almost always available).

thats the problem kiba i'm hard headed and don't like to admit when i'm over booked so ya i knwo i won't get paid i work for some scans that would pay me but i don't take pay no matter what i stricktly work for the fun of this

Current Status: Chapter 030 currently being edited. Since the RAWs are a bit... crappy... we will be taking our time so we can have a decent release.

I have no problems with that Kiba, if you guys need more time to work on the next chapter then take you're time, for me it's enough to know that sooner or later the next chapter is going to be released.

what do you mean by "crappy"? I have some raws, looks decent, has a resolution of 860x1200@96dpi probably not the best, but pm me if you want it...
I know I asked for a raw link in an another thread, but my girlfriend is like a hunter dog on the internet... just mentioned her that chapter 30 is in translation currently, and in half an hour she presented me with the raws :D
So I can share, if someone is interested...

@chipetke, prob the same raws as what i got... they're the only public ones now. they came out at the start of the month. they look alright, but in such a small resolution it makes working on them hard.

a 1200 pixel page is a very low resolution, we do prefer to work on 3000 pix and more pages.
We could also mail Rena-Chan to scan it once she gets this month's Jump SQ (I dunno if it was this one who published R+V, but whatever, you get the point). However, we would have to wait not only for her to scan it (that its also very time consuming), but also the shipping time needed for her to actually get the magazine.

Current Status: We just got the mq RAWs for chapter 031. Again, this may be delayed a bit in order to come up with a decent release.

Don't worry about delays Kiba, to me it's enough to know that the next chapter is being worked on and will be released sooner or later, so take you're time :)

Yeah! Just finding the damn thing is a challenge anymore! As long as we know that you've got it and progress is being made, There's no need for you to worry about the delay! ;)

I have no problem with that ... so take you're time jamjamstyle. It's still good that you actually have found the time to do this despite you're own personal problems ... I understand that sometimes RL can interfere with you're hobbies and have no problem with this.

It's good to hear it's being worked on regardless. And considering what the raws entailed, it'll be spectacular once translated, regardless of how long it takes. Thanks for your diligence despite your current circumstances, and have a wonderful day.
