Really interesting manga done by the same team who did Shin Angyo Onshi. There's some awesome fanservice too (Elimona and Idamaria are faptastic!).

to me it seemed like the plotline just phased :/

I'm not sure about that, but I think it was about time they delved into his past. I don't think the manga would have remained serialized if it went on doing things like before the flashback. I do want to see Kukabara and Idamaria get married and have some half-breed babies though. That would be awesome. Although, he'd have to keep Elimona on the side as his mistress to really spice things up
