So far a third season of the Anime has not been announced. Some people online have speculated that the new PS2 R+V game sort of took the place of a third season. It's uncertain if the anime will get a 3rd season (the ending of season 2's last episode sort of left the series open) and I can't tell for certain how popular the anime was over in Japan. But online I'm hard pressed to find anyone who liked the Anime. By Anime Fans, fans of the manga series, Anime review sites, and Blogs the anime has been critically panned. And if the audience in Japan feels the same way, then it has a low chance of having a third season. But all in all, I seriously doubt a third season will manifest.

Besides, with the job Gonzo are doing, would you really want a third season? I agree with T-6000. It seems unlikely there will be a third season based on the recession in Japan, the studio's own financial difficulties, and the lack of positive feedback.

too bad theirs no season three since in season 2 the animators really mess up the story
TigersDemon
10-12-2009, 04:21 AM
what do you mean too bad? The only way to make this situation better would be to have the dude who's idea it was to screw up the story fall of a cliff...
...is that a little morbid?
Rosario + Vampire was beyond redemption the moment that it cut out the Anti-thesis. It was made perfectly clear that the Rosario + Vampire anime series wasn't going to be anything other than fan service after that point in time.
A 3rd Season would have to be something that is totally made up from scratch. Unless, they do a remake of the entire series and actually follow the events that take place in the course of the manga.

i would watch it if they remade the entire thing :D and i might stop bitching about how bad it was. Mabey.
Can't argue with you there.
Perhaps, they will actually do this someday, considering the first season would be a lot better if it were remade from the beginning.

Japan has been going through rough economic times for years now.
But I have yet to find many who liked R+V anime (and Gonzo is on the ropes as it is, just let them stick with Strike Witches)

Idealy so would Gonzo go belly down and some other company could do a better version of R+V...
Another gonzo season doesnt offer much other then more of the same. I guess if a few more characters are intoduced in the manga so could we get to see them in motion and talking.

I doubt if they made a third season, it would be worth watching. Unless all you're interested in is cleavage and questionably situations.

dont forget about the lack of plot.

And the poor quality of animation because all the budget goes into the opening titles

haha Yeah, which mostly sucked anyway, save Dancing in the Velvet Moon, which admittedly was in itself an excuse to plug more fanservice; at least if you were watching the uncut versions...

Capu2 was definitely just for the fanservice and the quality of Discotheque opening was absolutely brilliant. I didn't really notice it in the first season. The titles didn't seem to take much attention of detail away from the actual episodes. I'm guessing this because the studio didn't decide on the titles we know until the 4th episode. Probably why the quality is better for the first few episodes.

Oh, I literally couldn't watch the disco one. I watched it once and almost vomited; partially because I don't like disco, but mostly because it was using the manga's deep, built up characters as nothing more than eye-catchers.
I guess the same could be said about my previous reference, Dancing in the Velvet Moon, but I suppose the use of relatively good music makes a bigger impact...oh well.

I myself hated the disco opening, but mainly because I have a distaste for disco. Oddly enough, alot of R+V fans online liked the opening alot, and in fact it's common for me to hear that they think the opening was the only good thing about the second season.

This is my first time hearing that, but I rarely hear of R+V outside of FH. Anyway, my eyes being unclouded by the evil of disco, I saw it as, like I said, little more than a blatant jab at injecting fanservice into every opening.

I'm fine with watching the openings because they're completely unrelated to the plot so its just an extra. Its when they start taking away the budget from the actual episodes and putting fanservice into the episode that I get annoyed. Although Nana Mizuki has done a good job overall with the songs. The voice acting is what makes it bareable.

You're all right in my book. I really want another season, but it needs to be made by someone other than gonzo.

It hasn't helped with the chances of more R+V anime that the Anime industry has taken a hard hit. Over in Japan, Anime doesn't sell as good as it use to. Of course, that's what I heard. It is possible that if there are more R+V Anime planned, it could be a re-boot rather than a season 3, to match the manga more.
For those that would like to see more Anime done, I do feel for you. I would like to see some more episodes of "The Big O", but that will *never* happen. :(

True, though there was only so much they could do with thirteen episodes. The manga had three times as much, so of course the mangaka could do so much more. I'd watch a third season, if it's ever released. If not, there's always fanfiction and of course the manga. But, one can only hope, I suppose. Until next time...

as much as i would love re-boot of the anime and give us someting that follows the manga story line, i guess that will not happen, as far as they are concern the anime version of R+v did not work out, but it did not work out because they messe it up, i mean there are alot of anime that get one or two season, and even if the manga keep on going, they don't make any more seasons, look at HSDK, it get two seasons but after that it stoped it, but the manga keeps on going and is still good, in R+V's casea new season or a remake is not likely to happen, and that is just sad >_>

I think its because they are putting too much fanservice in the anime... and the fact that they seem to ruin series by doing so. I mean I was completely disappointed in R+V anime... and the same for Vampire bund. I mean stick to cannon... Bleach and Naruto does for the most part, and only do side stories when they run out of cannon.
So I dunno, I think they sort of killed themselves. I mean I think we can all take a little differences but imo too much and it just turns into garbage explcly when they use Manga as a guide. when it comes to VN's i can understand how they can go off base, considering some of the VN have completely different endings.

You're not completely right here about the Vampire Bund or rather, you're pointing at the wrong person. You should take in consideration that the author of Vampire bund, literally forced the animators to come up with a story completely different from his manga. It's obvious in such cases, that the production team certainly will fail to deliver what the fans demand because they all sticked to the original storyline.

True enough, though from what I've heard online, haven't verified this yet so don't quote me, the RV mangaka was quite disappointed with the ending of Capu2. It's not surprising, considering what happened. Might look into it when it's released next year by Funimation, but we'll see.

well 2 reasons why anime has taken a big hit, tougher censorship laws, and in all honesty piss poor anime. I mean all the anime done for teh series lately have imo sucked. they don't follow the story are more intrested in doing "fan service" than even following the story. that or they completely change the story for who knows what reason.

I think if Key Animation took this on it could be salvaged. They've done a brilliant job with Clannad, K-On! and the likes, mainly because they stick to a heavy moe look without devoting much airtime to fanservice. Very good at slice of life sort of stuff and a studio that's actually making steady progress despite the state of the market. It would give Rosario Vampire the sort of edge I think it needs.
